2018 Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer SF launched in India

Suzuki has launched the 2018 Gixxer and Gixxer SF motorcycles in India. The updated models come with a new colour option. The 2018 Gixxer and Gixxer SF are priced at Rs. 80,928 and Rs. 90,037 (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.

In terms of dimensions, both bikes measure 2,050 mm in overall length, 785 mm in width and have a wheelbase of 1,330 mm. The overall height of the Gixxer is 1,030 mm, while that of the Gixxer SF is 1,085 mm. The seat height of both bikes is 785 mm and they share the same 12-litre fuel tank. The Gixxer SF weighs 140-141 kg, while the naked version tips the scales at 135 kg.

On the styling front, Suzuki hasn't made any major changes. That said, both the 2018 Gixxer and Gixxer SF are now available in a dual-tone Candy Sonoma Red/Metallic Sonic Silver colour in addition to Glass Sparkle Black and Metallic Triton Blue. Both versions get a digital instrument panel, telescopic front forks and a monoshock rear suspension. 

Meanwhile, the same 154.9 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine has been carried over from the outgoing models. It produces 14.5 BHP @ 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 14 Nm @ 6,000 rpm and comes paired with a 5-speed gearbox. Both bikes get disc brakes in the front and rear however, ABS is offered as an option only on the Gixxer SF.
