6 reasons why I sold my BS6 Fortuner after just 15 months of ownership

I have booked a Mahindra Scorpio-N Z8L AT as a replacement.

BHPian himanshugoswami recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

I drove a BS6 Fortuner for 15 months and decided to sell it off because of the following:

  1. DPF regen every 150 kms in the city is a pain!
  2. When you are parking and DPF regen starts, you need to wait for 10 mins till the cycle completes
  3. The NVH is pretty pathetic
  4. Service intervals are shorter in diesel and DEF cost adds to the fuel cost.
  5. The price of petrol and diesel has almost reached similar levels
  6. I live in NCR so diesels are a dying breed

On the other hand, the Fortuner was a gem on my regular highway runs, but the pain of driving it in the city far outweighed this.

So 21K ms later, I made a tough decision and sold the Fortuner (for just 50k less than what I paid!)

I have booked a Z8L Scorpio-N AT as a replacement. The drive of the Scorpio-N is significantly superior to the Fortuner in every aspect, that TGDI MStallion engine is a gem (my Thar has one in a lower state of tune and that has done 30k already). The ASS of Mahindra (at least in NCR and Chandigarh) is way better than the much-vaunted Toyota ASS.
