Honda CB750 Hornet globally unveiled

The CB750 Hornet will directly take on the Yamaha MT-07.

Honda has taken the wraps off its new middle-weight naked streetfighter motorcycle, the CB750 Hornet.

The new Honda CB750 Hornet comes with numerous features, including electronic rider aids and a new parallel-twin engine to take on rivals such as the Yamaha MT-07 and the Triumph Trident 660.

The motorcycle features a new 755cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin cylinder engine. It produces 92 BHP @ 9,200 rpm and 74.4 Nm @ 7,000 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox with slip/assist clutch as standard and an optional bidirectional quickshifter. Honda is said to employ a 270-degree firing order which mimics a V-twin engine sound.

The Honda CB750 Hornet also comes with a host of electronic rider aids. This includes four ride modes, traction control, wheelie control and engine braking control. Other features include LED lighting all around, a 15.2-litre fuel tank, a fully-digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and Honda's smart voice control.

The CB750 Hornet also gets 41 mm Showa forks at the front and a mono-shock suspension setup at the rear. Braking is handled by dual 296 mm Nissin disc brakes at the front and a single 240 mm disc at the rear. The motorcycle rides on 5-spoke cast aluminium rims with 120/70-R17 front and 160/60-R17 rear tyre profiles.

The Honda CB750 Hornet is priced at GBP 6,999. It is currently unclear if the motorcycle will make it to Indian shores anytime soon.
