Honda Elevate trademark filed in India

The production version of N7X concept is expected to be unveiled in August.

Honda has filed a trademark for the 'Elevate' name in India. It could be a name reserved for the brand's upcoming 7-seater SUV.

Earlier this year, Honda had unveiled a new 7-seater SUV concept called the N7X in Indonesia. The production version of this concept is expected to be unveiled in August. It could replace the BR-V.

The N7X concept shares its underpinnings with the City. The exterior design of the car is inspired by the City and HR-V.

While details of the production version are still scarce, it is believed that the new SUV could be offered with a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with either a manual gearbox or CVT. In the City, this engine produces 121 BHP and 145 Nm.

If launched in India, the N7X could compete with the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and the MG Hector Plus.
