Maruti Suzuki YRA spotted testing in Shimla

The upcoming Maruti Suzuki YRA premium hatchback has been spotted testing in Shimla. Slotting above the Swift in the company's line-up, the car will be positioned against the Hyundai Elite i20 and Honda Jazz. 

The images show the YRA in two variants. While the lower variant gets steel wheels, and body-coloured door handles, the higher one gets alloy wheels and chrome door handles. The YRA has sweptback headlamps, a V-shaped honeycomb grille, ORVMs with integrated turn-indicators, a roof-mounted spoiler at the rear and an antenna on the rear section of the roof.

Previous images show that the YRA gets black interiors with silver accents, a multi-function steering wheel and a 64:40 split rear seat among other features.

It is unclear what engines Maruti will use to power the YRA. Reports suggest that the company could use a 1.0-litre, turbocharged petrol unit, 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre petrol engines and a 1.3-litre diesel power plant.

Maruti Suzuki is expected to sell the YRA through the NEXA dealership network, alongside other premium products such as the upcoming S-Cross crossover.
