Mitsubishi to launch 2 new SUVs next year

Last week Mitsubishi Motors launched the Pajero Sport 4x2 automatic as a part of its 'New Stage 2016' strategy to boost sales in India and other emerging international markets.

Mitsubishi also revealed that it plans to focus only on the SUV market over the next 2-3 years. The company intends to launch two new SUVs in 2015. Of the two new SUVs one will be priced lower than the Pajero Sport while the other will be priced higher. However, the company has not revealed the names of the models likely to be launched. It is only after 2-3 years that the company will think of launching any sedans or hatchbacks.

In India, Mitisubishi manufacturers vehicles in collaboration with Hindustan Motors Finance Corporation Ltd. (HMFCL). HMFCL has 31 dealerships across the country. It plans to expand its network to 48 by the end of the current fiscal. The company has sold 2,000 units of the Pajero Sport in the past year. Over the next year, it plans to increase this number to 3,000.
