New car launches in India in June 2023

Here is a look at all the important car launches expected to take place in June 2023.

Maruti Jimny 5-door

The SUV is one of the hotly anticipated car launches of the year. The price reveal is scheduled for June 7, 2023.

The Jimny 5-door was first showcased at Auto Expo 2023. Maruti has already garnered over 25,000 bookings for the SUV. The Maruti Jimny will compete against the likes of the Mahindra Thar and the Force Gurkha in the lifestyle segment.

VW Taigun & Virtus Limited Editions

Volkswagen has launched two new variants of the Taigun and one new trim of the Virtus in India. These will be available from June 2023 onwards.

The variants finished in the special exterior colours are part of Volkswagen's new 'GT Edge Limited Collection'. As the name suggests, this will be available in limited volumes.

Mahindra Scorpio Classic S5

Mahindra is all set to introduce a new 'S5' trim of the Scorpio Classic. It will be positioned between the base 'S' and top-spec 'S11' variants. Dispatches of the S5 variant have already commenced, however, Mahindra is yet to announce the pricing.

Powering the Scorpio Classic S5 is a 2.2-litre diesel engine that makes 130 BHP and 300 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, which drives the rear axle.

Honda Elevate unveil

Honda has released multiple teasers of the Elevate ahead of its global debut scheduled for June 6, 2023. The Elevate is Honda's first mid-size SUV for the Indian market.

The mid-size SUV will be powered by the 1.5-litre petrol engine from the City, albeit in a higher state of tune.

Volvo C40 Recharge

Volvo is all set to unveil its second all-electric model, the C4 Recharge, in India on June 14, 2023. The electric SUV will go on sale later this year.

The Volvo C40 Recharge is based on the brand's CMA platform. In international markets, the SUV is available in single and dual-motor configurations.

BMW M2

The first units of the second-generation BMW M2 have landed in India ahead of the model's official launch. The new M2, which made its global debut in October last year, is expected to be introduced in the Indian market soon.

The M2 uses the same 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline 6-cylinder engine that powers the M3 and M4. However, it has been slightly de-tuned to 453 BHP and 550 Nm. The engine is mated to either an 8-speed automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual.

Mercedes-Benz is all set to launch the SL55 AMG in India on June 22, 2023.

The SL is Mercedes's flagship convertible. It is currently in its seventh generation and will be imported into India as a completely built unit (CBU).

Powering the SL55 is a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that makes 471 BHP and 700 Nm. The engine is mated with a 9-speed automatic transmission and Mercedes' 4Matic all-wheel drive system. It is also the first roadster to get rear-axle steering as standard.
