Pics: Mumbai-Alibaug Ro-Ro ferry resumes service

In March 2020, the Mumbai to Alibaug ferry service was started. However, due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the operations were suspended. Now, the service has resumed.

The Ro-Ro service has been scheduled to operate till the end of this month for the duration of the Ganpati festival. The service will help travellers during this festival period by cutting down the time taken for the journey from 3 hours by road to 50 minutes.

The ferry will start from Ferry Wharf between 9:15 am and 11:00 am and from Mandwa Jetty between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Customers can book the tickets online or at the company's office.

The ferry was brought from Greece and has a capacity of 500 passengers and 200 cars. While the passengers will be charged Rs. 300 per trip, a car owner will have to shell out between Rs. 800-1200. Two-wheelers will be charged Rs. 200, while bicycles will be charged Rs. 100. Pet lovers can also take their pets at a cost of Rs. 300.
