Scoop! 2019 BMW 3 Series spotted testing

Early prototypes of the 2019 BMW 3 Series (G20) have been spotted testing. The new 3 Series will be underpinned by BMW's latest cluster architecture (CLAR) which first debuted on the 7 Series and was later adopted on the new 5 Series. The new platform is designed to cut down on weight and has provisions for plug-in hybrid versions built-in.

The exterior styling is expected to be tweaked as per the latest design language. Like the current F30 generation, the front end will feature the twin-kidney grille blending into the headlights. The rear end will also receive minor styling tweaks. The changes are expected to be in-line with the new 5 Series and will include an air-breather behind the front fenders.

The interior of the new 3 Series will be updated with the latest iDrive system. The revamped system will include a touchscreen interface. As far as engines are concerned, BMW will possibly continue to offer the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder diesel and petrol engine options in India depending on market conditions. However, final engine specifications may change.
