Suzuki iK-2 concept (Maruti YRA) leaked ahead of Geneva debut

An image of the Suzuki iK-2 concept (Maruti YRA) has been leaked on the internet ahead of the car's global debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

The production version of the iK-2 has been spotted on several occasions in India. It has sweptback headlamps, a V-shaped honeycomb grille and a wide air dam with fog lamps housed in the front bumper. As we move from the front to the rear of the car, its roofline slopes downwards, while its shoulder line dips a little at the A-Pillar before rising upwards. The ORVMs of the car are mounted on its front doors and feature integrated turn-indicators. There is a wiper for the rear windscreen and the rear bumper houses the number plate and reflectors at the extreme ends. Higher variants are likely to get alloy wheels, daytime running lights, a chrome-lined grille and chrome door handles.

On the inside, the car gets a black dashboard with silver accents an instrument cluster with two dials and an MID, an infotainment system flanked by vertical air-conditioner vents and freshly designed controls for the infotainment and air-conditioning. Features such as keyless entry and go, climate control, multifunction steering wheel, cruise control, reverse parking sensors, air bags and anti-lock braking system are expected to be available as well.

It is rumoured that the iK-2 will be powered by a 1.0-litre, turbocharged petrol engine. A 1.2-litre petrol power plant and the 1.3-litre diesel and 1.4-litre petrol units from the Ciaz could also be used.

The iK-2 is expected to be launched in India later this year and will be positioned above the Swift. It will compete with the Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo.
