Tata Motors looking to use JLR inputs for future products

Last week, we had reported that Tata Motors will use the expertise of its subsidiary, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) to build two new global SUVs. Going further, the Indian automaker is looking at contributions from the British company in the development of more products with which it will enter new segments.

Tata Motors intends to launch 2 new models every year. The first of these products is the recently introduced Zest compact sedan. For upcoming products, the company will take inputs from JLR to develop their designs and engines.

Girish Wagh, senior VP (programme planning & project management) at Tata Motors' passenger vehicles division has said, that Tata Motors will learn a lot from JLR, starting right from the understanding what customers want, to incorporating this feedback while developing the vehicle.

Tata Motors has been struggling when it comes to passenger car sales. With JLR's assistance, Tata Motors will hope to build world class products, which will help it to turn its fortunes around.
