Volkswagen discontinues the Taigun Anniversary Edition

The Taigun GT Edge Limited Collection will be available from June 2023.

Volkswagen has delisted the Taigun Anniversary Edition from its official website. The move comes following the introduction of the Taigun GT Limited Collection.

The Taigun Anniversary Edition was launched in September last year to celebrate the model's first anniversary in India. The SUV was based on the Topline variant and came equipped with fog lamps, body-coloured door trim, aluminium pedals, door-edge protectors, window visors, blacked-out rood and ORVMs and '1st Anniversary Edition' badges.

The Taigun Anniversary Edition was offered with the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. This unit develops 114 BHP and 178 Nm and is offered with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.

The Taigun GT Edge Limited Collection will be available from June 2023. The car comes with special exterior colours, including Carbon Steel Grey – Matte with red accents and Deep Pearl Black. It gets special badges, aluminium pedals, Wild Cherry Red interior stitching and red ambient lighting.

2023 Harley-Davidson Anniversary editions coming to India

Harley-Davidson has launched special editions of the Heritage Classic, Fat Boy, Street Glide and Road Glide to mark its 120th anniversary.

This year, Harley-Davidson is celebrating its 120th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the American bike maker has introduced special editions of the Heritage Classic, Fat Boy, Street Glide and Road Glide models. According to a media report, the anniversary editions will be launched in India in the coming weeks.

The Anniversary edition models come in a special colour called Heirloom Red Fade, with an anniversary edition logo comprising a flying eagle, the brand logo and “1903-2023: 120 years” lettering. The bikes also get blacked-out engines with red highlights and black exhausts.

The 2023 Harley-Davidson Anniversary editions are mechanically identical to their standard versions. The bikes are powered by a 1,868cc 'Milwaukee Eight' V-twin engine. It comes in two states of tune – on the Heritage Classic and Fat Boy, the engine develops 93 BHP and 155 Nm. On the Street Glide and Road Glide, the engine is tuned to 92 BHP and 158 Nm.

The Sonet Anniversary edition was launched in October 2021 at a starting price of Rs 10.79 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Sonet Anniversary edition was launched in October 2021 at a starting price of Rs 10.79 lakh (ex-showroom). It came with a cosmetic package that included tangerine accents on the grille, skid plates, side door garnish and centre wheel caps.

The Sonet Anniversary edition was based on the HTX variant. It came equipped with LED headlamps with integrated daytime running lights, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, an electric sunroof, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, a rear parking camera and cruise control.

The compact SUV came with a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 118 BHP and 172 Nm, paired with either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. Kia also offered a 1.5-litre diesel engine with a peak output of 113 BHP and 250 Nm.

The Kushaq Anniversary Edition is based on the Style variant. It comes with ‘Anniversary Edition’ decals and also gets door-edge protectors and chrome garnish along the doors.

More importantly, the special edition Kushaq comes equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, offering Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The SUV also gets features like rain-sensing wipers, automatic climate control and cruise control.

The Kushaq Anniversary Edition is available with 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines. The former makes 113 BHP and 178 Nm and is paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic, while the larger 1.5-litre unit puts out 148 BHP and 250 Nm and gets an optional 7-speed DSG.

Skoda Kushaq Anniversary Edition to get a 10-inch touchscreen

Prices for the Kushaq Anniversary Edition are likely to start from Rs. 15.59 lakh (ex-showroom).

Skoda is gearing up to launch a new variant of the Kushaq called the 'Anniversary Edition' this festive season. New images confirm that the car will come equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

The Kushaq Anniversary Edition is said to be based on the Style trim and will demand a premium of Rs. 30,000. For that, you get a 10-inch touchscreen ICE with wireless smartphone connectivity and a subwoofer.

The special variant also gets a few dealer-level accessories as standard. These include chrome inserts on the front grille, door sunshades, cushion and neck pillows, 3D rubber mats, mud flaps, sun blinds for rear windows, a key fob cover and body cover.

It has also been reported that customers will be able to choose from the 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines. The former will be available with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic, and the 1.5-litre motor will get an optional 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

As per the report, prices for the Kushaq Anniversary Edition will start from Rs. 15.59 lakh (ex-showroom).

The tentative unconfirmed prices are as follows:

Skoda Kushaq Anniversary Edition to be launched soon

Prices for the Skoda Kushaq Anniversary Edition could be announced this festive season.

The Skoda Kushaq Anniversary Edition has been spotted at a dealer yard. The new special edition variant is likely to be launched this festive season.

The spy images suggest that the Anniversary Edition could be offered in at least two colours – Candy White and Carbon Steel. The SUV gets a silver decal on the C-pillar with the ‘Anniversary Edition’ text. It also has 17-inch alloy wheels, door edge guards and a silver strip on the side cladding.

The Kushaq is offered with a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 113 BHP and 178 Nm and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that puts out 148 BHP and 250 Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic that is available with the 1.5-litre motor. We still don’t know which of these engines will be offered in the Anniversary Edition.

Kia Seltos Anniversary Edition leaked ahead of launch

The Anniversary Edition will be based on HTX trim.

Kia seems to be gearing up to launch a limited edition Seltos to commemorate the 1-year anniversary of its launch in India.

The report suggests that the Seltos Anniversary Edition will be based on the HTX trim. It gets new front and rear bumpers with orange accents, new side skirts and black 17-inch alloy wheels. The SUV also gets an orange '1st Anniversary Edition' badge on the tailgate.

The features offered in the Seltos Anniversary Edition will be identical to what you get in the regular HTX variant. The kit will include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, UVO Connect features, wireless charger, air purifier, ambient lighting, sunroof, LED headlights, tail lights and fog lamps. The interior is likely to feature an all-black theme with black leatherette seats.

Under the bonnet, the Anniversary Edition will get a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 113 BHP and 144 Nm and a 1.5-litre diesel that puts out 113 BHP and 250 Nm. While the petrol engine will come paired with either a 6-speed manual or CVT, the diesel will get a 6-speed manual transmission.

Hyundai Santro Anniversary Edition launched

To mark one year since the launch of the Santro, Hyundai has introduced an Anniversary Edition priced from Rs. 5.17 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Santro Anniversary Edition is based on the Sportz variant and comes with minor cosmetic changes including black ORVMs and door handles, black roof rails, gunmetal grey wheel covers, body side moulding, chrome rear garnish and an Anniversary Edition emblem on the tail gate. The car is available in two colour options - Polar White and Aqua Teal.

The new Santro is powered by a 1.1-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 68 BHP @ 5,500 rpm and 99 Nm of torque @ 4,500 rpm and is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.

Hyundai Verna Anniversary Edition launched at Rs. 11.69 lakh

Hyundai has announced the launch of the Verna Anniversary Edition, which will be limited to 1,000 units. The car comes in SX (O) trim with petrol and diesel engine options. Prices start at Rs. 11,69,413 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The new Verna Anniversary Edition comes with exterior updates such as front and rear skid plates, black ORVM housings, shark fin antenna, rear spoiler and Anniversary Edition emblems. It comes in white and special edition Marina Blue exterior colour options. Additionally, it gets black interiors with black upholstery and a black dashboard with blue trim. Other features include wireless phone charging, sunroof, ventilated seats, smart trunk and telematics.

The Anniversary Edition models are offered with the same set of engines as the standard car. The 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine puts out 121 BHP @ 6,400 rpm and 151 Nm @ 4,850 rpm and is offered with a choice of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder diesel unit makes 126 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 260 Nm @ 1,500-3,000 rpm and is only offered with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Scoop: Creta Anniversary Edition features and prices revealed

In July 2016, we had reported that Hyundai was readying an Anniversary Edition of the Creta to celebrate the first anniversary of the SUV in India (click here to read report). Now, the features and prices of the car have been revealed.

The Anniversary Edition will be based on the SX+ trim level of the petrol and diesel versions of the Creta. It will be available in Polar White colour with a black roof. The car's C-pillar and integrated spoiler will be finished in black as well. Other features include 17-inch alloy wheels, bright silver skid plates and body graphics.

On the inside, the Anniversary Edition gets a black dashboard with red accents, fabric upholstery with red inserts and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The Anniversary Edition is not likely to feature any mechanical changes. It will get the same 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines and 6-speed manual transmission as the regular Creta SX+.

The Creta SX+ Anniversary Edition petrol is priced at Rs. 12,50,717, while the diesel is priced at Rs. 14,06,961 (both prices ex-showroom, Surat, Gujarat). This makes the Anniversary Edition Rs. 39,000 (approximately) more expensive than the standard SX+.
