Just got the Vehicle after the 15k regular service.

They have replaced the engine oil, Oil filter plus I have requested for the Wheel rotation.

All done. Now, its time for a long drive!!!

Btw, during the last visit to chennai I filled Shell normal petrol. I was in hell of a traffic inching every 2-3 secs and hence without switching off the engine for almost 1hr and 15 min near Vanagram (just next to Ponnamalle). Still, I got a milage of 13.5kmpl.

I did this in the Vijay Motors, Mahadevpura. I have not driven much to comment on this, but I felt that the cleaning and the complaints I mentioned [wheel rotation and doors lubs] was attended.

Apart from that, I don't really feel like they did a better service.

Congrtas Mjothi, I shall be giving mine for 15k next week. Anything apart from oil/filter change needs to be attended to in regular 15k service requirements?

Thanks
Regards
DHiraj

In regular service only these 2 items. Apart from this, I felt the doors was not closing properly as it used to be and hence had some lubs to it. Also, the tyre rotation, it was not done before. So, I did this time.

Was the tyre rotation charged or part of the package? They did not charge me when i got it at 5k but dont know if they will charge me this time.

I think 3 wheel balancing are free as part of the package. Did you have that done after the rotation?

Was it not always done after rotation? I was assuming that it always goes together and never even bothered to specify to the guys. Ha, how do I confirm? May be I need to call those fellows and check.!

Guys, a quick question.
Just now i have given my Aveo for 20K service at Sundaram. Not any major complains reported.
The service guy told me "they will do a break pad cleaning and check-up, and will replace break pad if its necessary". The price he told me around Rs 2000+ for break pad.
Do you think we need to replace break pad at 20K km, I know its based on ones usage up to some level. But i don't think i am doing any over usage.
And break pad cleaning also, do we need to do every 5K km, that's what he told me. I have already done a break pad cleaning at 15K km.
Or are they trying to extract some money?

Alternative is to get an independent view. I think with experience one can detect brake pad wear. 20K seems a bit early for a manual.

Its purely wear & tear item. Greatly depends on driving style. So, better to check with the service advisor and ask him to get your approval before changing. It may not be necessary to replace.

Btw, are you in cashless?

I also called up Vijay and enquired about the price. its around 2K. So, its fine.

No, i am not in cashless ownership. I did the purchase on 2007 October.

Got to see this thread also.

Sorry for late response. Just noticed this. Yes, I think it does comes with independant ones.

Optra has both front & rear with McPherson Strut, but in Aveo only the front.
