I bumped here for suggesting the same.
Alteast a santro, to me, looks full of character,
with spanking 13 inchers (alloys).

Tuning box for Santro?

Hi guys,

Some questions I could not find answers to yet:

1. Do we have any ECU mapping boxes (like Pete's for diesel), for the Santro Xing from reputed and quality house like Pete's?

2. I read that some cars rely on back pressure for maintaining low end torque. So so do you think Santro relies on back pressure and does it lose low end torque if you install a Free flow exhaust?

3. Is a custom intake different from cold air intake, and is a custom intake NECESSARY, if I am going to install a K&N Universal Conical filter?

I finallt managed to get the tacho, that i have been hunting for over a yr.

its working perfectly.
ideling at 800-900 and with as at 1000rpm. goes upto 6500 rpm

iam attaching the pic of the main tach signal cable connection, blue wire on the ignition coil. the blue cable is a extension of the green calbe from the tach and is connected to a black cable in the coil wiring.

there are 3 wire there Red, Green, Black, on the coil.
installation was done by a reputed tuner. PM me if contact required, am not sure, posting it here is right.

Looks nice.

How long did the work take and how much did you pay for the tacho.

Was there any tweaking needed or just connect and it runs.

The meter, sunpro cp2012, costs rs.1700 in Usa. Had a friend bring it down. Installation took 1hr and its plug, set n play. Only 4 wires to connect. the meter has to be set to 2cly for the correct reading in a santro erlx type.

In mumbai you can get the conical K&N at 4 Seasons, Near Hajiali Junction.
Four Seasons Automobiles - 24 , Jaywant Industrial Estate, Tardeo Road Tulsiwadi, Mumbai

Iam not sure about 2001 Santro, but for the 2008 model, connecting pipe in the pic is from Automech, Lower Parel.
Unit 3 Vasva Udyog Bhawan
Sun Mills Compound, Opposite Big Bazaar, Lower Parel West, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400013
022 24926819

The circled part in the pic has to be same in santro 2001 & 2008, as automech have this 2008 design and will make it without taking the car there. fitting can be done by local mechanic in Kolkata.

My Santro setup done by K&N vendor (Methods,Bangalore) is different. There is no bend in the pipe.

The bent one is closer to the front of the car thereby gettimg faster access to fresh air as the car moves fwd I reckon the bent one would still breath easier/better

Each has its own benefits; to each his own.

'Bend in pipe' design may have easy/fast access to fresh air but pipe/air filter is almost above engine. It may negate fast fresh air advantage due to hot engine beneath.

'Straight pipe' design may not get fast fresh air but it won't be mix of hot and cold air.
