I havent done FFE as yet, But I'm thinking of taking out the catalytic. But two -three mechanics denied me saying that its near manifold, and they are not willing to take risk, if anything goes wrong.
Is it that risky to take off CC from the manifold.
Also would taking off CC, would help me for better pickup and mileage?

the right thing to do would be a proper ffe from a reputable source vs getting just the catcon removed from some local mechanic and risking things

Guys,

Has anybody used Synthetic Oil in Santro. IF yes, which grade 5W-??.
Also did you follow any process, before adding new Synthetic Oil from Mineral Oil ..(Eg. Engine Flushing or something).

Please do let me know.

Please let me clarify, this is not mine ... source is goolge "santro turbo" and some latin site.

This seems to be a very bad home made DIY turbo.

Hey Santro Fans,

Sunday and was sitting home, nothing to do. After watching TV show Overhauling, I was bit inspired to do something for my car. Then I thought why not clean my conical filter.

Here some of the cleaning, DIY.
1) This is how the basic look of how the filter is installed.
Unscrew the filter screws. Make sure, you do it very carefully and do not hit the mesh of the filter.

2) Once the filter is removed, the image should be as shown below.

3) IMP - Do not keep the intake pipe open. Make, sure you cover it with a clean cloth. A dirty cloth, may mistaken, clog in the intake pipe, with dust.

4) Now, Use a vaccum cleaner, and keep it on blower mode. Put the smallest tip at your blower end, which can blow air, with maximum force.
If you dont have a vaccum cleaner, go to a mechanic, where they have this pressure, air cleaner. Just blow air, keeping the filter a bit away from the tip of the blower.

5) Use the filter solution. THis take a bit time, but its worth the cleaning. (Im not mentioning that instruction for that, and it is already mentioned on the box/ cover)

6) Once the filter is dry enough, fix it back.
If you can during this whole process, take off the battery connection. An 1/2 hour battery connection off, will help you to reset the ECM.
Fit it back, and the ECM , will adjust back.

Happy cleaning, and let me know if any queries.

@yatin

From the pics of your filter looks like the engine will be sucking in a lot of hot air. I was facing problems before with similar install and after i changed the piping and position that is away from above the engine there has been considerable difference in the running.
