GM uses the Vortec engines of different capacities in no. of their rides.
you can get more information on FIA Institute - Home Page on FIA homologation.
The Fury buggy is one of the very few face cars which is street legal here, this is because of its design.

Well it depends on what budget a guy has for the project!
the buggy uses the engine from an esclade, this was fairly new engine and then heavily modified for the rallies.

@Vikid
Nice buggy, but looks kind of strange. (i think its written that the base vehicle is Caddy Escalade?) Also that white SWB Cherokee, is it a limited edition version or is it regular Cherokee chopped off?

Dubai has got every breed 4X4 there, since it has got exotic desert landscapes & also the crude oil prices are quite low to own & have fun with such 4WDs.

Please post some more pics of that rally spec LC Pickup (the one with 0-100 in 3.5 something)

My XJ has the automatic transmission and i love it, i dont need to fight with gears and clutch while taking up any difficult terrain..

What an adventure! Started with the spectator stage with Fury Team achieving 20th position out of 37 cars inspite of understeer on a slipery curve and having to reverse and losing valuable seconds.
Monday driving at a steady pace, broke the front axle so we decided to pull out fix the buggy and starting fresh the 2nd day.Started 34th position and were able to outrun one competitor after the other, arriving at PC1 11th position! Then our bad luck hit again with the same problem like the previous day. This pulled us back to 28th position for the next day.Decided to cancel 4WD and run only on rear wheel drive, so we headed out on Wednesday and were able in the 1st 15 kms to pass 9 competitors till the rear axle gave up on us which put us out of the race with a disabled buggy in the middle of Liwa dunes.

enjoy the rally pics..

Wonderful off-roading pictures, specially the ones in LIWA .

How do you get out once the whole axle , wheels and all are in sand. wonderful experience you might have been having.

Nice pics, Looks like your front axle didnt help you complete the trip. Nice pics of various vehicles trying their luck. Looks like you've had good back up too.

But the Dunes are not as scary. The Sand looks soft and with a little bit of technique one should be able to surpass them.

Anyways, as i did not read the entire posts, maybe i missed something. What is the spec of that buggy?

Cheers

Yup nice pictures.

We did The Palar Challenge 08 here close to Chennai, wherein, we came across some tough sections as well. Unfortunately, the press guys who covered the event have the pics. Should get it from them - EX670c, are you listening?

And yes that Classic is a pretty commendable vehicle, iff, properly maintained!

Nice terrain & wonderful pics.

I feel like watching the Dakar rally. There seems to be many competitors from around the world. The speed of your team's buggy is very good as it could catch up the 11th position. great, but sad for the Differential parts.

Good luck for the furure.
(Liked those red Range Rover & Blue Defender. Nice mods)
