from the pics it looks like a RWD. is it? how does it cope off road without AWD?

Did you go to the dune while the sun was still out there?

Man, more pictures. Especially of more vehicles if there were any.

yup the buggy is a RWD. These buggies are so light in the front that you could lift it with 1 hand!!

I saw a buggy was a 6.1L V8 700HP+.. these buggies are so powerful that you could do a wheelie while coming down the dune (slope)..

generally you would see following spec engine-
  • 520BHP chevy LS2 engine
  • 9" ST.3 clutch, flywheel and adaptor
  • Headers with mufflers
  • 90mm Billet Throttle Body
  • Bosch Hi-flow Fuel Pump
  • Billet Pre Filter & After Filter
  • K & N Air Filter
  • Custom hydraulic Roller camshaft
  • Manley High rev. valve springs
  • Manley Titanium Retainers
  • Manley Chromoly Push Rods
this pack for about 15kUSD (only the engine)

Hi vikid,

I was going to ask howcome the buggy with the unpainted aluminum sides had such a loooong wheelbase, but i guess the answer is >

... so that the weight distribution is away from the front and hence it doesnt dig in to the sand too much.

Any other reasons?

hi,
came back from india on thursday after spending good 3 weeks in pune and couldnt wait to go for the offroad trip.. here are few pics; was a long 150kms in desert and a fast pace trip, so not many pics were taken.

btw- i visited the mahindra dealer in pune and enquired about the major; i was surprised to know that this ride cannot be registered in pune city as its engine does not comply to BIII; also the delivery takes 2 months if you manage to give residence address outside city limits??

what do you guys have to say on this?

guys, this weekend was very special.

We tried the Toyota land cruiser Pickup which has received the V8 5.7L chevy Lumina engine transplant and what a pickup! Spinning 35" tires for 20 meters on asphalt! You can imagine then what was it like on the dunes...
This machine does 1-100kmp in less than 5secs .. its our rally support 4x4; stay tuned for the comming UAE desert challenge, where our team is participating in the fury buggy.

some pics loaded here, but sadly the quality of pics are not good.
