Re: MM550 XD NGCS - The War Horse

did you remove the entire engine to do a shackle reversal ? or is some thing more interesting going on like bigger turbo, inter cooler and radiator?

Re: MM550 XD NGCS - The War Horse

This Jeep just gets better every time I visit the thread!

Lockers and Bighorns must have made a huge difference. Congrats Sreejesh. Love the way you've built this Jeep up. I would be surprised if you still had mods planned. I think you've covered all that is possible. Or is it?

Having a NGT530 5-speed GB makes it way more drivable on-road and the front and rear-lockers must make it super off-road!
Kudos!

Cheers,
Adi

Re: MM550 XD NGCS - The War Horse

Broke the second set of front axles. Both left and right. Three years back Sudharsan Bhai advised me to think about CV joints" http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/4x4-ve...ml#post2779953 "

Now Gowtham from Pollachi Made CV joints for 57" axles.

After doing all this modifications, spending time and money and sleepless night I understand a sad reality "Mahindra Jeeps are made for agricultural use or people carrier its not a Sports Vehicles and It cant be a Sports vehicle.it can Only be a worker or a show vehicle. and I started respecting Gypsys.

Shubhendra Ji,

Never. Once a "jeeper always a jeeper" But that doesn't mean I should use Mahindra. Going to do my last Set of modification on my jeep. if I still not satisfied will make it back to Stock and use as what it was made for.

Installed CV joint. Made by Gowtham. It works super and no steering vibrations in 4WD , steering feels free so more control on Offroad.

33" tyres rubbing both the Front and rear fenders So SPOA (Every modification has a reason May be that also "The Jeep Thing" ).

Sreejesh that had to happen eventually i guess. . Apart from the usual brake lines, drive shaft mods do have a look at the steering angle for SPOA. Im not sure if the power output of our engines can cause axle wrap as i have seen many who dont run them. But do consider it cause it prevents the rear axle from jumping too much and gives good traction. Also do let us know how SPOA handles on a MWB jeep with your wider axles and offset rims.

I have seen your various builds for four years now and I am seriously stunned by your never ending enthusiasm. Monetary is one part but the 'drive' to execute so many mods is top class. Hats off to you for that.

Barani

Better buy restored ones for 2.5 to 3 lacks from north and register it in Hyderabad.
Unless you want to experience the restoration process (many people including me enjoy the process more than end product ) and ready to spend your weekends, week days and what not to finish it which you initially think as a 2 month's project.

In Maharashtra, it costs around 50: to register army disposal 550.
