Re: The most practical & best looking Hardtop - Mahindra Thar

After lot of researches and talking to many Team-bhp members i have decided to go for PA HT,as it looks more eye pleasing (not that boxy look),easy for me to get it installed, plus the PA guy is offering me a great deal, rest awaiting the outcome, will share my experience once it gets installed and driven for few 100 kms. Though will miss my thar for the time period it gets installed.
Till then Keep Thar"ing" guys!

Re: Icon FJ40 Hard Top for the Thar?

My pick would be a beige/white combo like this....

Think you can very will do it.
Have seen old Traxs and Mahindra Jeeps having this exact kind of body, colour and sometimes even the rear curved glasses too.

Dunno about the shops who do these, but you can definitely do the job.

There is a body shop near Minarva circle next to Kamat hotel in JC road. I have seen them working on metal hardtops for old jeeps and the owner is a helpful guy. Make a visit and check with him.

Re: The most practical & best looking Hardtop - Mahindra Thar

Hi guys. I am not sure if this is the right thread to post this. But I could not find any other thread dedicated to hard-tops.

Can anybody provide info about this hardtop ?

It is aesthetically very pleasing. I like the low profile design. I have been trying to find it on google without any luck. Any advice in the right direction would be appreciated.

Thank You

Italian Hard Top

Hello guys,

I need your help in procuring the Italian Hard Top replica. The people at R&T have stopped making it.
Do you guys have any idea as to who else make the Italian Hard Top?
I would have happily ordered the original one but the increasing dollar rates and custom problems are making me put that thought aside.

However the Hard-Top manufacturing should meet the below criteria:
1.The Hard-Top should made only in frp and not metal or cloth.
2.It can be disassembled into parts which can be transported to Mumbai.
3.I should not be the first person for whom the Hard-top is made,
the main intention of this criteria is to avoid myself from becoming a test- mule.

Hope to hear from you guys soon.
Thanks.

Why the replica? Why not the original? With an order of 10, we can import 10 hard-tops in one go!

BTW why did R&T stop making the replicas?

While watching a installation demo of HYD HT I found this. This is designed by Sana Motors Mumbai, lots of Thar from Mahindra Adventure team are running with this HT.

Try to contact this company and if this is good HT then update me as well as I am also looking for one.

I watched the video in toto. It is indeed a replica, no comparison with the original!

In the replica, the insides have been given a beige panelling. The original is factory-finished both on the outside and inside!(does not require internal panelling)

Most importantly, in the original Italian hard-top, the rear is removable!

Thank you sir for quick comparison.

Nothing can match the original. Please keep me in loop for bulk order.

Three in, seven more to go!

Guys, I have asked the supplier to send me a fresh quote for 10 Nos. individually-wrapped italian hard-tops (in a 20' container), CIF Chennai!

If I get another 7 interests, I can work out the final pricing.

It will roughly take 3 months after confirmed order and full payment!
