Hi ,

Hmm ... you are from Kolhapur, my native place. Welcome and Great to see you here.

You can upload the pics from the same screen where you write your post . Just click on"Manage Attachments" and upload the pics. It should not be more than 1MB.

BTW how much you paid for your 540?

Cheers

Hi Hrishikesh,

Start a new thread on your restoration project. Its always good to have separate thread, we can discuss all these things separately. We should not hijack this thread.

Hi,

In the earlier posts I have mentioned that I am not keeping the stock engine instead installing an Isuzu 2.4 Turbo engine with 4WD.

Cheers !!!!

Hi Randeep,

This is well built engine indeed. How much did you pay for this?

And just for my understanding how is this different from XD3P?

Harjeev,

Thanks for your help today. I think he meant he had parts of the engine nickel/silver plated.

So what is the benefit of getting the parts nickel/ silver plated. Does it have to do anything with performance or purely cosmetic.

Depending on what part is plated it can increases wear resistance, protect against corrosion and may give a better visual appearance.

Hi Satnam,

Thats true because my mamaji said we'll get the pipes and plates nickle plated as it does not rust inside the cover. Also while the engine is getting painted the pipes visible outside give a very fine outlook and dont rust easyly. Not an expert so I let mamaji take care of things. He's been doin the same on all the cars that are being restored at his garage.

Cheers !!!!!!!!

At the workshop this Sunday.

Hi Everyone,

I visited the workshop in Jaipur yesterday to check the progress on the Jeep. Well the work is going on slow but would pic up pace by next week.

The engine, power steering and tub have been fitted onto the chassis while the modifications on the body are going on.

As I had mentioned earlier, the work is slow but I dont want to push it as I know Mamaji would do a fabulous job on it.

Here are some pics from the garage.

Cheers !!!!!!!!!
