Wow Randeep,

This is great News!!! It seems lot of old and vintage cars are getting restored there. which is that small car with steel grill behind your Jeep?

When are you expecting the completion of work ? and you had mentioned that you have changed the engine , which is this engine?

All the best. Keep updating and posting pics.

Thanks Tarkesh,

The small car you mentioned is a MG.
I expect the work to be completed by mid March, the engine that I have installed is an Isuzu 2.4 Turbo with 4WD gearbox.

Cheers !!!!!!!!

I picked my jeep without the stock engine and gearbox. The engine and gearbox that you see in the pics is an Isuzu 2.4 Turbo with an Isuzu 4wd gearbox.

Hi Randeep,

That looks like a great workshop. See a few vintage cars in the background. Looks like they have done an excellent job with your jeep so far.

Did you have to strengthen the chasis in anyway since the Isuzu engine is much more powerful than the stock engine?

@4X4addict,

I did not need to strengthen the chassis as even though the Isuzu is more powerful, it is much lighter as compared to the stock Mahindra engine. My uncle said it would not be required.

Cheers !!!!!!!

Hey Randeep,
The jeep is coming really well. Did you get the engine overhauled or you have put it in like that only??
Finalised the color as yet? I though love the Indian Army Green, but am just bit worried, like what if it dosent look that nice when finalised!!!

A common colour on the new Land Rover Defender is Galway Green.

Looks quite nice although they do a metallic finish.

Its either army colours or rang barange colours like reds etc.

New Shoes for my MM550

Hi Everyone,

Well today I went and bought new shoes for my Jeep. I was only interested in Mud Terrains(M/T). The options that I had were 1) Kumho Road Venture MT, 2) Bridgestone Dueller M/T, 3) Maxxis Buckshots, 4) Maxxis Mudzilla's, 5) Maxxis Big Horn's and 6) Yokohoma Geolander MT's.

I was suggested by my uncle not to go for the Kumho as the side wall's are very thin. The Bridgestone MT's dont come in R16, now I had to choose from the remaining 4. The buckshots were only available in 305/70/16 which I somehow find too wide. Geolander MT's I found out were only going to be available by mid May. Out of the remaining 2 the Big Horns and Mudzilla's I was suggested the Big Horns as they not only perform well on mud and rocky terrain but on road as well. So it was the Big Horn's for me.

Here are some pics of the new shoes.

Cheers !!!!!!!!!

The tread pattern suggest that they should give decent ride on road compared to mudzillas. Wise choice in my opinion. Also mudzillas are more prone to wear when used on roads. Did you pick these up in Delhi? May I ask the price?

cheers

Wow those tyres are good, Tucson tyres looks horribly small comparted to this.

How much did it cost you? Any idea how much the Maxxis Buckshots costs?
