In my opinion its not certain and nothing can be said for sure. Like my MM550 showed 46k kms on the odo but I really doubt that. It can be 146k kms, maybe more maybe less, the speedo could have been changed midway, the reading could have been altered by the army or the resale guys or anything for that matter. There is a lot of ambiguity around this.
This is the primary reason that many of us who buy ex-army vehicles decide to get a complete checkup of the vehicle before we start using it on a daily basis and I believe that whatever the vehicle maybe if a vehicle is opened after 10 years there are many things or parts that will not be alright and will have to be changed, especially ex-army vehicles!!!

Just my 2 cents...

Hi

Like Harjeev has told when the army disposes of a jeep it could be for any number of reasons. One can never say for sure. The mileage on mine shows 18k and odd kms! Now everyone knows for a 1999 model MM550 that too with an engine which is overdue for full overhaul it definitely could not have run just for 18K kms it has to be 118 and odd k kms. Other than that even some accident vechiles are also disposed off by the army.

Cheers
