Thank you for raising this concern. Since the wait time is longer, I can’t live without the car for my daily commute. I can probably refrain from using the car if I get the new car in 1-2 weeks. But, it looks like it will further take 6-10 weeks. I do not have any other vehicle sitting idle in my garage that I can use in the interim period. I do use my wife’s car whenever it’s not used by her. She commutes to office 3-4 days a week, so I do rely on her set of wheels while she does WFH.

The price that was agreed by the dealer was applicable only for November. And, if the delivery gets delayed beyond that, they will be re-evaluating again. The price that they offered for my 9 year old Aspire was 2.6L + 40k exchange bonus. And, when we locked in the price, we agreed that if I get a better deal outside during this waiting period, I might be opting out of trade-in with the dealer and I’ll lose out on the 40k exchange bonus.

Meanwhile, Spinny did an evaluation and offered a base price of 3.01L and if I negotiate I should get 10-20k more. And, from olx, I had received 3 offers for 3L+ with the best offer of 3.3L. So, in all probability I might be selling either to Spinny or directly on olx for some extra moolah that I can use for getting a good ceramic coating done on Slavia.

Re: ARTICLE: Pre-delivery Inspection (PDI) & Check List

Hey guys,
Need your suggestion and help.

I have booked a Seltos GTX Plus DCT and I have a PDI coming up in 2 days.
The dealer asked me to do the PDI in the stockyard first but since it is very very far from their showroom through which I have booked they agreed to get the car near their showroom for PDI on my request.

The dealer is fine with a third party PDI service but they have said they might not allow the third party PDI person to connect anything to the OBD but they are free to check any electricals/systems by actually using it and free to check the exteriors however they want. I am hoping it is fine?
I have a PDI service from Cars24 and hoping that everything works out as well.

Please suggest me on the things I can check or ask the dealer to provide to be completely sure if the vehicle.

The dealer has said that the car is November 2024 manufactured so I am hoping I can easily figure it out via the vehicle VIN?

Also, should I ask the dealer to show the stockyard landing document for this vehicle?

Please suggest.

PDI for Punch Empowered + LR

Hello you all,

As the paperwork goes on, KHT Motors Whitefield wants to do a PDI on the car on Thursday (26th Dec 2024) It was manufactured on Sept 23, 2024, and I am guessing it's been sitting in the stockyard.

1. Is it OK for me to get the car if the PDI inspection comes out good?
2. I was told that the battery would not degrade that quickly, is there a way to check its health and be satisfied that it's not tempered?
3. I have created a PDI document by myself from watching many many many videos and some general knowledge. Am I missing anything else?
4. I have asked for a minimum of Rs15,000/- discount from the dealer if they want me to accept that car since it is 3 months old.
5. Is there anyone here who has experience dealing with KHT Motors? It is too late for me to change

It might be short notice but I was just approved to start a new thread.

Hi,
Sorry for the late reply. I think you have already completed the PDI and made a decision. But here are my 2 cents.

1) Ask for a bigger discount or ask them to provide a more recent manufactured model.

2) My experience with KHT Whitefield is very bad. I found most of them to be lacking sufficient knowledge about the vehicles and almost negligible interest in selling the car. I had gone to enquire about a particular Curvv model and they couldn't tell when they can get it for test drive or delivery. They had no clue. They asked me to check the interiors and features of the car on a diesel model and surprisingly quite a few features were not working already. That was a big red flag and their knowledge on the car and interest were a big let down. I finally made up my mind and decided to go for another brand and so far very happy about it.

3) I would suggest to get a 3rd Party PDI check done. Insist on it with the dealer if they don't allow it. I used Cars24 PDI service very recently and was quite happy about it. It's not that costly as well.

Hope you have a great purchase experience.

Hello,

We took the car delivery today! 3rd Jan.
You are right about KHT Motors Whitefield. Hopeless team. They were at least not rude to me.

None of them knew anything about the car. They were extremely disorganised within themselves. The car didn't have the puncture kit so the person coordinating with me, called someone from her team and they started fighting on the call. A few minutes later the other person handed me the kit and these two were fighting in the showroom with all the other customers right there! yelling at each other.

Anyway, I did get the PDI done by cars24 itself.

Not even surprised tbh but very sad to hear. These guys need to up their game.
There's already a lot of negative reviews for KHT Motors especially their Domlur branch.

Anyway, Congratulations
Happy Driving!

Re: ARTICLE: Pre-delivery Inspection (PDI) & Check List

I was watching a recent episode of Mahesh Chandra Goud, the mechanic who has a youtube channel, pretty satisfying to watch actually, I may have got his name wrong though, coming to the point, in that episode he was trying to highlight the difference between experience and knowledge and one example of experience he cited was to idle the engine for upto 2 hrs before taking delivery, he mentioned a hindi term as "Ravva karna" for this, I never knew of this and does seem to be a practical input, anyone else did this or believes this to be correct?

Re: ARTICLE: Pre-delivery Inspection (PDI) & Check List

KIA dealers in pune are not allowing proper PDI, they are letting us check the paint thickness and all but not letting us do the OBD scan. Has anyone faced the same issues?

Re: ARTICLE: Pre-delivery Inspection (PDI) & Check List

Wow I cannot believe the effort the forum members have put in to create such a wealth of information that is a gold mine for noobs like me. Thank you.

I do have a couple of followup questions:

1. In terms of payment, I will just make the booking amount payment at booking. What is a typical booking amount for say a 15L car? I have seen numbers from 11-31k being thrown around.

2. After PDI, do I need to pay anything else?

3. Between PDI and final delivery, how many days gap is there? What if the dealer makes changes to the car post PDI?

4. Will I do another short PDI during final delivery? After this only should I make the full payment?

5. If someone can shed light on what papers need to be signed and the ideal stages to do the same, that would be really helpful too.

Re: ARTICLE: Pre-delivery Inspection (PDI) & Check List

Hello BHPians, what is the verdict on doing 3rd party PDI without OBD? Dealer is unwilling to connect to OBD with third party PDI. What is the risk here from buyer point of view and will a third party PDI be still useful?

Hi BHPians, can someone guide on this? Should I go ahead with exterior PDI only or insist on OBD scanning?
Zekardo has a fixed slab at Rs 2500 irrespective of scope, while Cars24 seems to be cheaper. Is there significant difference in their quality of services?
