@wildon,

Great work buddy, have always been appreciating the work you been doing. :thumbs up

Would it be possible to post the Nissan VIN Decoding too please:. Thanks in advance.

The information is mighty useful. Thanks a ton Wildon for this info. All this while i used to think that the chassis number is one random number. Now it makes sense.

Also thanks Stratos for moving the thread to this section!

Thanks for the info Wildon. This info proved to be very helpful when i bought my Punto last year. The RTO screwed up and put 'Mar' in the month of manufacture , instead of 'May' . Ofcourse, i didn't have the patience to undertake multiple visits to the RTO to get it changed, but atleast i know when my car was manufactured.

clap: Thanks to GTO and Stratos for the initiative and hardwork to make this happen.

Also Thanks to all who contributed to this thread by sharing valuable info for the same.:thumbs up

@ghodlur

I have put some preliminary findings in the old thread, which can be found at the last page.

Thank you all.

Thanks a lot Wildon, for the treasure trove of info :thumbs up

(sadly, 'rate this thread' option is missing - this thread sure deserves 5 star for the information value)

Dear Wildon,

Thanks to you for sharing this invaluable information, as well as answering so many queries on the older VIN thread. Your contribution has, without doubt, saved many a BHPian / guest from getting fleeced & ending up with an older car.

Knowledge is power, and power is knowledge. 5 star thread.

@ theexperthand : No thread in the ADVICE forum section can be rated, not even by Mods. This is because we consider all of them equal.

Mates - this is awesome work, thank you very much for your time and effort, I am certainly going to be using it my next buy.

Best ML.

Thanks a Ton, Wildon.

A dealer was trying to sell off an October 2010 Magnum to me with huge dicounts, stating it was a 2011, but thanks to you and your post I was saved from being cheated.

T-BHP Rocks !!

Superb work Wildon!

The Modi Hyundai guys had duped me in 2008; selling me a way older model of 2007; and I had cried hoarse later since it was also accidented; but that's another story.

Point to mention here would be the Mitsubishi dealers in Mumbai; Autodrome; who actually pointed out the VIN and how to read it. The only dealers who call a spade a spade and I respect that.

Cheers!

Thanks to Wildon!!
I used information from Wildon's thread to guide my Bro-in-law and Sister when they were buying a Ritz. It is certainly a lot helpful with the pictures and clear instructions.
Thoughtful Wildon.

Thanks to the mods for moving this to a separate thread, this makes it easy to search around.

That's a great piece of information! Thanks for sharing this with us, Wildon.
