Hi Wildon,
Please could you help me in decoding the VIN for Hyundai i10 Sportz AT which is going for registration tomorrow. You have informed that the VIN would be 19 digits starting with MAL.....but what they have given me is
Chasis # MALAN51CMCM228766 which works out to 17 digits and Engine # G4LACM892119. Due to this not been able to decode and same problem i had with my i20 CRDI ASTA VIN.

Are you booked an Auto Transmission i10 ? if so there is no detail for the same.
If you are booked a Manual Transmission then the VIN Should look like this

Yes, it's auto transmission. Checked with Trident on the 18th & 19th missing digits/alphabets. Understand the 19th digit/alphabet is available on form 22. They called me back and informed that the 19th digit/alphabet is G. The Chassis/VIN number which I gave you earlier is what I got from Trident. On decoding the VIN it comes up to 2012 / July. Not sure if I am right, as the VIN number you have quoted is different from what I got from Trident. Right now the car might be on it's way to registration. As long as it's 2102 / July. it't be an issue - what's your opinion ?

Have you personally checked the VIN/Chassis number of your car? The full chassis number can be seen on the floor, under the driver's seat .

The problems is not about July 2012 manufactured, its about Whether the car is up to your satisfaction level after doing the PDI?

No. I haven't checked the Chassis/VIN personally. What I gave you was provided by Trident over short message. Could not inspect the car before registration, as was held up in office. Will do the inspection tomorrow morning when the car is being delivered (I know the most important inspection is before the car is sent for registration). Just want to make sure the car is of this year and with in six months from the day it get's registered. Hope everthing goes fine. Thanks Wildon.

The salesman has assured me its a 2012 model. Do help me out!
