Just some clarifications.
* The AUX input in the HU - what devices can we connect through that ? I-Pod , Pen Drive or MP3 player ?

I need connectivity with a pen drive / MP3 player if possible. I am fine with no I-Pod connectivity. Also ok if I have to connect the former using some extra cables or something.

Now, will all HUs that you mentioned allow me to connect pen drive and MP3 player ?

Also, how advisable is to mix and match brands in terms of HU from one company and all other speakers from another one company ?

* The Pen Drive would require a USB connection to the HU, so you will need an HU with USB
* An MP3 player can either be connected via USB (like a Pen Drive), or by using a cable from the headphone jack of the player to the AUX input of the HU
* iPod can also be connected as above, BUT if the HU has a true iPod interface, you can control the iPod from the HU

So, the choice is based on what device you have:
- If you already have (or are planning to immediately buy one) an MP3 player, you can get any HU with AUX-IN [Blau or JVC or Pio]
- If you have only a Pen Drive, then USB is a must [Pio only in this price range]
- Both USB and AUX-IN in the HU maybe an advantage, especially front USB
- In any case the cables have to be bought separately

Mixing & matching? Why not!

If you want a HU with USB support, look no further than the Pioneer 7950UB. I cannot find a better HU at under 10K.

* Pioneer, JVC or Blaupunkt HU (app 5K)
* 6.5" components in front door stock location: Blau GTc 172HP or JBL CS2165C (3.5-4K)
* 6.5" coax in rear door stock location: Blau GTX173HP or JBL CS2165 (2.5K)

The confusion remains as to which HU to buy. Need to play CDs and MP3 player.

Also, to further complicate the matter, I am willing to pay a little extra if I can get a steering remote fitted.
