Best component speaker?

While researching on 6 inch Component speakers, I have listed down the following choices. Can the gurus/users please tell me quick pros/cons and suggestions/advice?

Indicative prices are most welcome too!

1. JBL GTO 607 (TBHP fav?)
2. Infinity - Kappa 60.7 CS
- Ref 6010 CS
(BTW, whats the difference between the above two models?)
3. Eclipse SC 8365 or SC 6900
4. Hertz EV 165 or DSK 165
5. Illusion EL 6.1s

Someone also recommended Polk Audio db 6501/MMC 6500 and
Rockford Fosgate 162S. But I havent heard these two brands as popular speaker brands, so I am not sure.

Looking forward to your views. Thanks in advance!

What do you mean by best?

Why don't you listen to them and decide for yourself?

I find a lot of difference between JBL and Infinity, but can't really say which one would sound better to you. Personally, I like the sound of the JBLs more than Infinity References.

Please dont read the title of the post in isolation. I mentioned in my post that "Can the gurus/users please tell me quick pros/cons and suggestions/advice?"

I know speakers almost completely depend upon one's ears. But what I meant was an overall ownership experience. e.g. JBL is more or less the most preferred brand of speakers on TBHP so there should be reason for that na? I meant it in that sense.

FYI - if it may help, my preferred music is Trance/Techno/House/Underground, Rock and popular Bollywood tracks

I've heard a couple of JBL setups....I found them a little too treble-heavy for my tastes. Infinity is supposed to be relatively smoother than JBL, havent heard them so I cant comment more...

3. Eclipse SC 8365 or SC 6900
Googled this...the first is a 3-way component set priced at USD500 retail - if that's your budget then then are many more options you could explore. The second is a 6X9 2-way component set. Not sure if that would fit in the front doors of your Getz.

I'm no expert but if I'm not mistaken, Eclipse is better known for its HUs than speakers...

4. Hertz EV 165 or DSK 165
DSK165 is the entry level 6.5" 2 way component set from Hertz (Dieci series) and costs around 6K. The EV165 is a 6.5" midbass only from the next higher series (Energy). I guess you meant the ESK165 which costs around 9K I think...

Remember reading some TBHP posts on Polk Audio - they were described as being very bright sounding...

Thanks FB, my budget was actually around 5-6K only (in the range of JBL 607). An installer (Boom, Mumbai) was also suggesting me Hertz (Dieci series) and Kappa. I liked JBL but havent gotten a chance to listen to Hertz/Kappa

Any comments on Illusion EL 6.1?

Boom would not recommend Hertz.

For your tastes and the given budget, it seems JBL will be the best bet. But without listening to some more like Illusion, Hertz etc... Don't make a sudden decision.

Both JBL and Illusion are very good brands, in the end it all depends on your taste.

I would strongly suggest that you audition the Illusions before deciding. I was all set to buy JBL before i auditioned the Illusions and ended up buying them.

Update - Kicker?

Ok guys a quick update. After work I visited Sound FX in Anderi today and got to audition Kicker DS 600.2.
I liked the sound but somehow found it lacking in (mid)bass. He had JBL 607 but for some strange reason, not setup as part of his demo so I couldn't listen to them.

He quoted INR 5650+INR 150 (spacer ring)+INR 200 (installation). All with B&W (of Preeti Trading, importer of Kicker and related brands).

Any comments about Kicker?
