The T696 is a much better speaker but really demands an amplifier. Amps you can consider are the Kenwod 8404, JBL 1004, Pioneer 6300, Blapunkt GT4 Special, etc... the reason I rarely offer model numbers is that these change every year or so and my senile mind just can keep up with all these changes.

Need details who can fix this preferably in western suburbs upto Bandra (I mean in Mumbai) will do.

Fixing it with GOOP or rubber cement will increase the Mms of the woofer, tht will lower Fs and reduce the Acceleration Factor. +

If you are using this woofer in a sealed box and are very careful with applying the rubber cement (thin layer) you should be ok. Otherwise you will ahve to ask JL to send you a reconing kit and go to a speaker repair workshop.

Thanks mate, I doubt if there is a reconing kit for the same, I checked with the guy in Dubai about the same and he did not mention about the reconing kit, USA- I can write to the mail id I have, not too sure if they will have it, as the thread that I read which was somewhere in Canada didnt get a reply from the Jl tech guy with a reconing kit option. I dont know what to do, this is my 1st one, I did ordered a new one and something has gone wrong in that it is jarring a lot on some songs, the tight kick is not there anymore, my friend is checking will know today, it is just that I wanted to check if the current one voice coil is gone then maybe I can use this cracked one as this runs absolutely fine except the crack.

Lets see, I dont know if i will have to order a new one yet again. trying to save some money.

VFM = value for money (it is subjective).

a) sound quality
b) reliabilty
c) suitablity

Might help many boarders. If you are stuck with an acronym, Google might be able to help decipher it. There is a "way" to search for them e.g. prefix your search with "define:XYZ". For example see below:

Car Audio Advice from the Audio Gurus: Use "Search thread" before posting a new Q!-googleseotips.jpg

There are other prefix (filtering) options too- worth checking out these links:

Google search - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Prefix Tricks Or Query Options In Google Search That You Probably Didn?t Knew

@Mods: please move to appropriate thread- if this message is a misfit.

Ok the current sub W7 12" is all ok, my friend did a impedence test for the voice call so its passed now, which is great news, but i need to know why there is jarring on some songs (mp3 songs 320kbps file), these songs use to play absolutely fine earlier, just off late they have started jarring, Some changes that I have done for better sound quality, I have put a Kenwood DVD touch screen, I have removed the capacitor and the current from the battery is directly going into the amp, I have put a new as per Jl audio specs MDF box with a side cut for the air to pass, it is a monster woofer, all as per the Jl manual.

Can any one suggest what exactly we need to check so that we get the performance back and the way it used to be.

THanks
