Guys...a quick question.

My friend has this Alpine 9843 HU, and he wants to exchange it with my Pioneer 7750

Wanted to know if the Alpine 9843 is a good HU, and does it have all that sub-out controls n stuff. Hoping for a quick reply as i have to decide on it by tomorrow before he sells it off.

9843 is a fantastic headunit. please be advised this system does not have a sub out, remote control, cd changer campatibilty, line in and not many features. If you are looking for a system with 4speaker configuration then this is a great system. If you are looking for a high end system with lots of feature like EQ, SUB CONTROL, CD CHANGER CONTROLS, I POD CONTROLS ETC... then don't look at this sytem

Well..then it goes outta the list. I need sub-out cuz i'm gettin two JBL 12"ers today . ANd not to forget the all imp. equilizer.

Looks like this system doesn't fit with rest of the sys...

Right now i have such a budget that either i can get two JBL GTO 1200B's or one JBL GTO 1200B and the Alpine 9833. So a bit confused what to do..

Oh and...i was quoted 6.5k for one JBL GTO1200B, good or bad?? And 13k for Alpine 9833

Ha, Sam ask him why he wanna JBLfy

Hopefully I should be withhim today when he get those. And maybe I will do a deal to get the 7750 for me. What say guys.
The 9843 he was talking about is the CDE series one and hence not worth as Venu pointed out

9833 at 13K is good. I paid much more but that was alomst 2 years ago.
Get one 1200B and the 9833. if you still feel like you need more bass than add the second 1200B.

45K....hmmm SQ or SPL?

Alpine 9847 (my FIL loves this HU) 13K
Alpine 240 amp for front and rear and Sony 502 amp for subs 14K
Infinity or Alpine Type R comps in the front and coax in the rear 12K
JBL 1200B sub 8K
Wires and install 4K
----------------
51K oops! but if you can squeeze a bit of discount you might make it to about 45-48K.

yup. He wanted to exchange his PIO 7750 for 7k and get this. Since I know that he is a bass head, I asked him to get 2 1200B instead of one 1200B + 9833.
