Which dealer are you picking up the Safari from?

PS: There is an alternative if you are wanting video to be shown to the passengers: mount a DVD player - cum - LCD screen on the ceiling, replacing the cabin light (these units come with their own lights). Audio can be connected to the stock Blau HU (AUX-IN) with AV RCA cable. Usually China-made, these should be available in grey in National market etc. PM @subbarao for a reliable shop.

Hi Guys!

I want to install a new ICE for the scorpio.
Would a setup of 4 Components+4 channel amp and 1 basstube+mono, be a complete and right setup. I am not a bass-head. And am looking for a very pure and clean output.
Also, I have read in many posts that a complete JBL setup gives very good sound without the need of over spending.
And if I go in for a setup from the Kicker company; which is much more expensive; would it sound extraordinarily different from JBL ?
I dont mind spending a little more. But the cost should justify the final output. I mean if going for Kicker would just give me a "marginal" better output, should I then just stick to JBL? Again considering that I am looking for more vocals than out-n-out bass.

Any sound advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

sam/guys...i need some help from you gurus. i read your earlier post on the factory installation locations for the ford fusion. any idea if this is still same for the new ford fusion diesel?

i need a clean sounding, simple install for my fusion. i want to install components in the front stock pods and a small sub (discreet) in the back. my budget for full ICE install is 20k. for HU, i've decided on pio + 4 channel amp (undecided). speakers will be JBL, but what models are available for this setup?

Hi NIP,

The ford fusion has a typical 5X7 slot for speakers. The only model that fits into the factory position is the GTO8627

NIP, for 20K, you can think of the following set-up

HU: Pio 6850 ( 9K)
Amp: JBL 60.4 ( 7K)
Rear Speakers: JBL GTO 937 (4K)

Oops, the budget is over But, stretch that and get the following as well:-

Front Comps: JBL ( 5.5K for 5inchers, 6.5K for 6inchers)
Install and Wiring: 2.5K

Total : 28K-30K

sam but these arent component speakers right ? i am ready to sacrifice the sub for now, but absolutely need components for the front + amp. i'm not keen on rear speakers for now, but will get a 4 channel amp to be future safe.

guys, what other brands make component 5x7 ? i want these speakers to into the factory slots only, without any outside modification.

I dont know if anyone makes 5x7 component speakers but Hertz and Blau (along with JBL) make 5x7 coax speakers.

Whoops! That looks like a list of everything T-BHP hates. Except for the HU and the amplifier (since I don't know what make/model it is), everything looks changeable to me.

Sorry Monaro if I sounded harsh, but I wish you'd come to the ICE section before buying all that.

Except for the iPod lol.

Monaro - show us the install, describe it to us. Where did you fit it, how, what did you pay etc. We will try to help you.

Hmmm... location says Noida, so we can expect a typical Delhi install.

Like Sam said, Monaro give us more details, the Guru's will surely point you towards the best way forward.

-Woofer 1200w -3k(tray)
-Amp 250w -3k(back of backseats)
-HU SonyXXXX -3k

Since your links were incorrect I'll post the thumbs for you

and this mess

Monaro - what you have is probably the combo of bad quipment and a bad install. I suggest you take a car first to a competent installer who will atleast get you the best of what you have.

For example, a decent MDF tray and some damping will take care of the rear deck rattle.
