hi experts,

I need your help. I have a Sony 7710S HU, and two pairs of Sony 1621 (6" co-axials) in doors, in my Getz. The HU has three 4 V pre-outs, and a separate volume control for the sub-woofer.
The sound clarity is excellent; but the bass is pathetic; when I turn the loudness on and increase the bass even marginally, the sounds starts getting distorted. So now I am planning to add a sub-woofer to this system. After installing the woofer, I plan to activate the low-pass finter so that the speakers don't play any low frequencies. Will it work.
I recently heard a Soomoku bass tube in a friend's Indica; it sounded OK, and the installation was also very clean unlike separate Amp and Sub installations. I am also thinkig of going for bass-tube only; whatdayasay? Soomoku tube costs 7300 bucks; any ideas on other prodcuts.
If I go for an amp+sub combo, any ideas on which brands to go for...
I wish to spend 10K max on this.

Thanx Navin,

But the JBL 1200T isn't an active sub, or is it? And is there any diff in sound quality of active subs and amp+sub combo; 'coz if there's not much diff then I would prefer to go for active sub.
Please suggest some good active subs; and if you recommend sub+amp combo then recommended place for installing these.

thanx

the 1200T is not active. you are right.

i prefer active subs too. if for nothing but the fact that the accompanying amp would be designed for the driver used. Any amp designer would tell you that it is much easier to design an amp for a particulat driver than for a driver that is not known.

Anyways. This is kinda funny. The business card in my wallet says it's Punjab Enterprises.

Are we talking different dealerships here then....??

If yes, then please confirm which one is the authorised distributor?
Both..??
