I somehow can't digest those huge "suspended" wipers... isn't the driver's vision affected?

Very true - the newer TATAs make hell lot of noise, and not visible performance.

Pitty, No comparison though.
Heard these days the Marcopolos are being sold with 180hp engines! (Built on 1618 chassis). So that changes the numbers in the game to 180 vs 290!

They are in the inner position and they can be positioned at the extreme end position though

Chennai's Marcopolos do NOT look like AL Vikings. They look good, but the rear is a mess. I prefer the Irizar-TVS built Viking SLFs to the Marcopolos in terms of looks.

In Bangalore from few days many Blue Non AC Marcoplo buses are plying. The looks of the bus from outside is far far better than the AC version of Marcopolo. It has a good lighting as well. These are Semi Low floor buses.

BMTC has started replacing the old buses with these new ones. Good for regular passengers. BMTC Keep it up..

Saw these buses on the Marathahalli route yesterday. Like someone said yes they are low on power. Why? cause I out ran one in my Bolero from stanstill. The Volvos just leave me for dead.

Quite a few buses are running on the Marathalli - ITPL route in Bangalore. Here are a couple of snaps of these buses.

They looks good, but I have no first hand experience of travelling in both the AC marcopolo and non AC marcopolo

I wonder why BMTC has not introduced non AC rear engined Marco polo buses?? KSRTC is running these buses in Mysore city and they look good. The front engined Marco Polos also look good

From many days I am trying to figure out what is on the top of the bus. This looks like a NON AC version. Hence i dont think that would be the AC up there.

How intelligent of them! They buy AC buses and not use them!!! Hats off to who ever does this... [Note: these buses are NOT airconditioned]

Thats the CNG tank (Rather, Cylinders). Since the buses have a low floor, they cannot have underslung CNG tanks. Hence CNG tanks are kept on top.
