Great work Anurag, one quick question, the IVRM in my figo is stuck on the front windshield, any ideas on how to proceed with such a case?

Thanks buddy.

Can you take a picture of your Figo's IRVM + IRVM mounting point and attach it here, I'll contact the seller and get the solution.

Great DIY a4anurag!
My IRVM is also stuck to the glass and I have the reverse sensor mirror attached to the OEM IRVM. As soon as I change the display of the reverse sensors and figure out the mounting procedure I'm doing it too!
Again, Great job! Cheers!
One question! Do you plan to do this mod to your other cars?

Congrats on the mods and the well documented DIY anurag. Rated a well deserved 5-stars.

One suggestion if I may, it would be nice if you could add the link where you bought each of the items from for e.g. the 12V tester, interior trim remover, crimp plier set etc. so that folks wanting to buy can do so with confidence.

Re: DIY Install: Auto-Dimming IRVM & Anti-Glare ORVMs

Awesome information as usual Anurag!

Can you recommend a IRVM that is auto-dimming as well as with dashcam in it? I need both of them and want to avoid pulling too many wires. If there is single unit that does this would be nice! I saw few on AliExpress but not really sure which one I should go for. Please suggest.

Hello Avinash bhai,

Thank you the appreciation, tethering the IRVM with dash cam, I have found one link below:

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/170-D...319110290.html

I have simultaneously contacted the seller for suggesting an IRVM that has both auto dimming + dash cam option. Please give me a day's time for the seller to respond. Will update you accordingly. Thanks.

PS: I have no connection whatsoever with the seller and AliExpress.

Take a pic of the mirror mount on the XUV and mail it to him with dimensions if possible. He can suggest the correct mount then

Yes, I am in touch with Anurag as well over PMs. The tricky part with XUV is there is a different assembly which seem to be difficult to pull out easily. extending into sunglass holder and sunroof switches, don't want to take chances. I will visit MASS soon and figure the assembly. I anyway need to do that for DIY to be successful

Hey guys, it finally did rain today and did drive in rains for approximate of 10 kms. The rain spell was medium but since I was on the ORR cruising at 100 kmph, visibility wasn't much an issue.

Clicked one picture:

I see the main advantage with these anti-glare ORVM is it solves the primary problem of glare so the water droplets will not be an extra issue. Plus with a use of Rain-X glass treatment, the beading effect is better so water droplets don't stay!

Re: DIY Install: Auto-Dimming IRVM & Anti-Glare ORVMs

Just to keep everyone posted, I reached out to my SA for XUV500 IRVM. Apparently it seems like a simple cover to be pulled from the IRVM and the assembly will be open. The SA advised not to do it myself unless I know the technique to open the cover on the IRVM attachment. By putting pressure on it in a wrong way, I have the risk of cracking the glass. That is alarming and hence I am now waiting for my chance to visit the MASS and see it myself, click pictures and then buy the auto Dimming IRVM with dashcam in it. if my SA is able to send the pictures of the bracket, I will at least be able to place order meanwhile.

In short, things are delayed by at least another week or so :(
