Yes, I too got a shock when I was playing with my kid's Olympus P&S the other day. It has a 'super macro' feature. Will take it out next time I go for a photo walk and see how it performs outdoors. This image is an artistic lock around the designer perfume Vuarnet. The blue ring is just a 2 rupee coin size. And this is one of the cheapest P&S available in the market :)

Nice to see features filtering down to smaller cams. Was really surprised to see the features on a mobile when i got the SGS2- Manual ISO, Spot Metering,
Image Stabilisation, Smile and blink detection were not something i expected to see in a mobile phone! :thumbs up

You are shocked? Most P&S can take better macros than dSLR with kit lens.:)

Let me refer you to a 4 year old discussion on this thread: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/shifti...tml#post515808

My friend held the crab, I took the pic. He got bit too:D.

It took us 15 min to hold the little fella like that. Delicate, else he would have been squished:Shockked:

Ahh! that explains why my DSLR's macro aint that great. I use 18-105mm kit lens.

Wow, it's been 4 years since that post? Nice. I was thinking about Lakshmi's photograph couple of days back (in context of PAAI). Also, looks like I have finally graduated from using "Ye" to "Yeah/Yes" these days ;).

Those were the days when I had just gotten my trusty Canon A530 P&S and had started taking some close-ups in the backyard. Nostalgic :).

lloydofcochin, I have re-edited your image, and cropped a bit to change the compensation. Hope you don't mind

Oh you got it already ? My eyes are on that but feel very reserved about spending big on a mobile as my Vivaz is still pinching ! Why everyone in TVM is getting into monkey business ? Are you associated with J K Ds exports :)

Yes ji, I never tried these things on a P&S till date, always thought its all a long list of features and nothing practical. Your images on that page is awesome ! Another logical reason added to my list to sell my FX and get a neat compact :)
