Hey that's very impressive, did you mean 1800 ? :) Judging from the reflection on the glass areas, I assume its day light not really "low light" situation ! Only exif data can clear the doubt. In my test at ISO-6400 I got only 1/30 in low light at f/4.

Correct. It was indoors but wasnt the low light situation stupid:.
It will be interesting to see the result in low light (preferably a dark room) and the exposure values at ISO 12800.

Came across this link through a friend. This is an interesting read.
You and your dslr

With the above test at 12800, I can guarantee real low light image will be totally useless. I will say the sensor is really good if it can produce clean image (without noise) at 6400 in a candle lit equivalent atmosphere. Test that and see how it performs ! :thumbs up

RSimonS, you are the 3rd person to post the same link in the last 4 days, I think it belongs to the DSLR thread !!

Light House at Kapu Beach, Udupi, Karnataka.

I took my camera out after what seems like ages :). On Sunday, the family decided to drive to Thimmapur to take a look at some real estate. The weather was lovely. I had the camera to make the most of it :).

Both pictures above take on Canon 1000D with the 18-55 kit lens, CPL filter, and Custom White Balance.

C&C most welcome.

Thanks Shaju; This is the most memorable and best of mine till now !!

As India prepares to celebrate its 64th Independence Day I try to capture the lotus temple in Tri-Color (our national flag) style to ignite the patriotic feeling among all.

Exif: D700, 400mm, f/8, 1/90 sec, ISO-200.

Very nice shot. There was a beautiful eagle perched on the sill of my hotel room window in Delhi striking a similar pose, but I couldn't get a good shot at all!

This stray cat lurks around the house all the time! Ironically, the sign on the other side of the wall on which the cat is sitting says 'Beware of Dogs' :D

White balance needs correction.

Looks like the sensor has got darkened remaining idle :) Wondering what custom white balance is used, images look artificial !

Good concept, but the timing is wrong I feel. You should go to such places when there is no crowd around, preferably early morning (golden hour), I dont know what time you can get this place without crowd ! Majority of your images posted here can take a dramatic change if you step out early morning or late evening. Harsh sun can kill an image unless you compose it differently.

Dont chase eagles, they are dangerous, might even take away your DSLR ! Pigeons are harmless !

:)

Luckily there was glass between us. Unluckily it was the tinted kind! Let me see if I can dig up a decent shot of it!

A tumbler of Cherrys!

Not fully satisfied with the shot but liked the different angle!

I will be satisfied only when I eat them not looking at this image :) Drop them into your palm and take a close up shot, that will look 100 times better or even placing them in a white crockery and filling the frame with it ! And by the way, they look like plum to me !

Need one advice. I am planning to make a collage and thinking of using picasa for it. Problem is that I will be making the size of the final print atleast poster size. Most of the pics will be jpeg 2 MB size. But the thing bugging me is if the the picasa will be able to maintain the resolution at that size.

Any other better(and free) software out there?

Hmm yeah, they'd have looked better in my hand! They're Cherries, really large ones (by Cherry standards) though :D

A photo of the spoken about eagle!
