Why ? you can still buy VR for 12K from Shaju's source and pass on that G to someone else for the price you purchased .

+1, even if you pass that on with 1000-1500 less, the VR is a steal at this price.

Amit, dont give hope against hope, I said I was bargaining hard for 12k although someone mentioned a 300mm prime is possible. I know its not possible to dream in that range. Mine I had bought for 25500 and sold after few months for 22k without bargaining. It went from my bag within 24 hours after telling few friends. Anyway, I will quote here the best rate I can get as a response from the seller, hopefully he replies back to me (with the kind of bargaining I did).

Aroy:

Thank you for the information. But the prices are still high. I cannot spend till I am confident that I will do justice to the equipment.

Re: The DSLR Thread

And what about those who don't have this arrangement? There are several items that are available in the US at half the price but getting it down here is an issue.

Sparingly used D3, D3s go for a steal, but.......

The Amazon price seems to be the same as India price, that is apart from the shipping that you have to pay for anyway. But if you still want to buy from abroad, make sure the total value (item+shipping+insurance) falls below 10K and there is no duty charged, speaking from personal experience getting multiple items.

Thanks for that update. Got one from Photocircle today. What's amazing? What he charged is exactly what's quoted in Amazon!!

Thank you. Ebay with local sellers, I think offer at 90-100 as well. But nothing like the old way of shopping! Go to a shop, see an item and buy it!
