I used to get download speeds constantly in the region of 1mbps to 1.5mbps, and this was on my 512 kbps plan. I obviously never complained. :D

But, I am told by a friend that even now the speed at his place (dombivli, thane) is in the same region. Wonder whats wrong with your connection.

Recently upgraded my connection speed to 4Mbps. Airtel Impatience @1399 per month. Excellent experience so far...

ISP=Beam Fiber 4 MB connection. Costs Rs 8250 for 6 months. Simply terrific!

Note: The upload speed is unparalleled. Quite useful for VOIP calls like Skype, Gmail, Magic Jack, etc

This is with BSNL. I'm satisfied so far. They have improved their QOS.

4MBps plan from Beam Fiber. I seemed to be getting more than what they promise. I doubt if I can get anything better for 1500 pm.

My office connection sucks compared to this.

I just got an sms from Beam Fiber that my 2 mb connection has been upgraded to 10 mbps at no extra cost.
Eager to go home and try it out. I already got a screenshot from a pal posting an upload and download speed of 9.x mbps!

Just today got the message that they upgraded my 256kbps connection to 512kbps. Happy with their service.
Looks like it is due to the government's recommendation that 512kbps should be the minimum speed to classify as legal broadband speed.

Wow! I am envious! 10MBPS in India at just 1000 bucks a month is amazing. They are unlimited plans right?

Yup, subject to FUP of 25 GB per month, after which the speed drastically drops. But I never exceeded 10 GB so far.
