999; Re 1 was only for a day.
And yes it is black.

I got a Jawbone UP24 for 4000 bucks last month. Imported it from Amazon USA. Got a pretty sweet deal honestly. Its working well, and is very accurate and inspiring. Even though it has been discontinued and the new UP2 costing a $100 has been released, getting that to India would be closer to Rs.8000 which is too high.

It lasts for 2 weeks on 1 charge, monitors sleep rather accurately and forces you to change your lifestyle. The App is amazingly well designed and I connect it to other apps such as Strava for cycling and it works well in Tandem.

Ordered MI Band today!

Inspired by other good experiences posted on this thread, I went ahead and ordered MI Band in today's sale.
It was available for more than 15 mins atleast, though 16000 mAH power bank went out of stock in couple of minutes.

I believe, as fitness bands are not yet hyped much, sale continued for minutes rather than seconds like it used to be for MI3 etc.

Even kept one for a friend in cart, but he declined.

Now, wait starts...

How many days it takes for MI to ship?

Regards,
JLS

I got mine in 3 days since it was shipped from Bangalore itself. What was remarkable was that I had a tracking number within 60 minutes of placing the order

Re: The Fitness Band/Smartwatch Thread

I have the fitbit surge which I have been using for quite some time. This is one of the high end fitness band and also works as a smartwatch.

https://www.fitbit.com/surge

Some of the features which I have liked are

1. Bluetooth connectivity through which you can control music and also see messages and call (though you cannot answer through it).
2. Large LCD touchscreen with good display. You can read it even in bright sunlight.
3. Built in GPS along with heart rate monitor , sleep monitor and step counter

Cons of the product :

1. Bulky though not heavy
2. For the price its not water proof but just water resistant.
3. Better suited for gym or workouts though you can wear them on a friday to office.
4. Step counter sometimes considers even the hand movement as steps which is not right.
5. Battery is not very great if you are into training for marathons. Using gps for your daily runs you can get upto 5 days of battery life.

Bought this as I started to get interest in running and wanted to take it seriously. Though I have notbeen very regular but whenever I have used it to track my runs it has not disappointed. Connecting to GPS takes little time but once connected it hardly loses it. Tracks and provides the map accurately. You can connect to fitbit app on phone easily to sync the data. Heart monitor provides a pretty accurate heart rate especially during running.

Thanks.
The device will be coming with black strap only, if you want to get a coloured one you have to buy it as additional accessory. Just today I noticed they have started selling coloured straps for Rs 199.

Re: The Fitness Band/Smartwatch Thread

I hear that there is another sale for MiBand on 16th at 2pm. Anyone interested in MiBand can buy it tomorrow.

Meanwhile, does anyone has info on YuFit? It is also a Rs 999 wearable, but does not seem to be available anywhere as yet.
