Re: The Fitness Band/Smartwatch Thread

I have a been using a Moto360 with a leather band and feel the need to changing to a steel one. Is there any online site in India where I can get it? Flipkart doesn't sell and accessories for the Moto360 which is a real shame.

Its the old version. There is a newer one available in international sites (aliexpress etc) which comes with a heart-rate monitor as well. I would recommend that over the old model.

I have the older variant. Battery backup is simply awesome!

Re: The Fitness Band/Smartwatch Thread

few months back, I got FitBit Charge HR (with Heart Rate) as a gift, and have been using (wearing!) it, though Im not much into getting steps / cals goals, really need to step-up! The battery life is superb, last easily 5-7 days, and often I wear it during sleeps - the app pretty accurately records the sleep pattern.
I have even tried syncing the band with its app (mobile) after a gap of 6-8 days, though it took a while, eventually all data was synced successfully.

few weeks back, band failed to sync with app (mobile), I tried uninstall/reinstall the app, but still didnt work. bit of google resulted in a reboot process for band itself: connect the band to charging via cable, keep pressed the button on band till it shows some version nu on the band's display - its rebooted without any data loss!

regards,

Hey 'itwasntme', Did you get the 1st gen or 2nd gen? How is the activity tracker? Does it track heart rate and how accurate is it?

Thanks.

Re: The Fitness Band/Smartwatch Thread

I started from Mi band - absolutely loved it for the price! - then moved on to Qoqii band. Qoqii is a really good product with the coach service. Started using Microsoft Band 1, and it is an unbelievable product! It is a smartwatch touted as fitness device. It does everything so well, I might never go for another band at all.

Hi, I have the original Gen 1 360. It's working great but I doubt exactly how accurate the activity tracker is as it always differ from my Note 4's S Health app even if I carry/wear both around the whole day.

Heartbeat is accurate +/- 5 bps I think. Generally a good smart-watch app and saves wearing another gadget.

I had bought the Charge HR from Amazon.com ( when this wasnt available in India ) .A great device , but I started getting rashes on my wrist within 3 days of using it .

I just wrote to Fitbit . As they had a return/replacement policy on in the U.S , they just asked to destroy the band and the charger ( they asked me to cut these with a scissor ) and to send them pics of the same . I received a refund of the band + shipping+ import duties ! Customer satisfaction at its best .

I would suggest you write to Amazon and Fitbit both .

Amazon also had agreed to refund shipping charges + product cost ( except import duty )

TITAN has launched a Smartwatch by name Juxt Smartwatch. It is described on their website as below.

The watch has an OLED display and has toughened mineral glass crystal perfectly set within the contoured Titanium case. The stainless steel back cover is corrosion resistant and hypoallergenic. The watch is water resistant upto 5 ATM, works on both Andriod(4.4+) and IOS(8+) and has a battery that lasts upto 5 days.

The price is Rs 19,995.00 for Titanium / Rs 15,995.00 for Stainless steel / Rs 17,995.00 for Rose gold Stainless steel. The strap is of leather.

If anybody has purchased this, pls share your experience?

I have been using Fitbit Surge bought from Amazon India from the time it was released here. Outstanding value in that it really motivated me to hit daily goals and raise them steadily . I had a synching problem within 2 months . Fitbit replaced it without any questions in a few days. The second one two failed identically in less than two months. They replaced the second one too without questions. I haven't had any problems since then . It is by and large accurate when jogging and walking but calorie burn seems to be an over estimate in my case .

Re: The Fitness Band/Smartwatch Thread

Timex has launched its Metropolitan+ product, which is advertised as a watch+activity tracker in one. It's biggest asset is it runs off a regular CR2025 cell so doesn't need regular charging like smartwatches. Uses an extra analog hand and sub-dials to track activity (so info is available at a glance without any button presses) and pairs to smartphones via a Timex app.

Anyone tried it yet?

Re: The Fitness Band/Smartwatch Thread

My Fitbit Surge (purchased in US) was misbehaving with GPS function. I wrote to Fitbit, after a few mail exchanges they decided that the problem can not be fixed. I was told the cut the strap and the cable; write the case number on a paper, take the pic of cut unit and cable, send to them. I sent the pic, it has been acknowledged and I am waiting for the new Surge.

I traveled by train a few days ago. The Surge did not record the sleep, may be because of the constant movement of the train. However, when I added the sleep record manually, it showed periods of restlessness and woken up within the added duration!

I had one of the first Fitbit models. Going out on my Bullet really threw its accuracy. An hour on my Bullet would easily count for 20.000 steps or so!
