Any bhpian who have bought this and can provide a feedback would be helpful.

In the same boat and I am looking at the following devices:
1. Honor Band A2
2. Honor Band 3
3. Huawei Band 2 Pro

Can any of the experts what is the pros and cons of each of these devices?

Given the overlap in features, I am confused over which one to buy. I use a Honor View 10 phone and I assume the Bluetooth pairing should work fine given that the smartphone comes from the same brand.

There is no pairing issue with Huawei bands that I am aware of. I would suggest Huawei Band 2 Pro if you can get it. It has an in built GPS tracker.

Unlike MiFit, We have to use 2 apps - Huawei wear and Huawei Fit for getting notification alerts.

Also, Huawei Fit doesn't sync your data to servers or I am unable to locate such feature. So, if the phone is changed, you lose your historical data.

PS: I use Honor band 3 and Huawei Band 2 classic

Let me update my 2 month experience of the Band 2 classic (no GPS) - I am mostly happy given my limited use (resting HR / sleep measurement). For an enthusiast (my wife is a fairly serious runner / swimmer) this is pointless.

Pros:
- Battery life (15-20 days is easy)
- Segmented sleep capture (you can sleep at 12 noon and it will capture it - mi band did not record midday sleep)
- Notifications work as intended
- Watch faces can be simplified using the app - you can drop pages you don't want, eg running / swimming but only keep HR.
- Sleep tracking is REALLY accurate! This was my primary purpose
- Steps is fairly accurate as well.
- Bluetooth connection is quick, reliable but you don't keep it on since it needs BT+GPS (Stupid Android 8 "feature")

Cons:
- It is not linked to an ID but to your IMEI hence it is NOT portable across phones.
- Swimming tracking is very average - only time is tracked
- Under water, touch is disabled (but that's okay for a 3800 bucks band)
- Classic is basically rudimentary for running (steps X stride length). I regret not buying the pro for this reason.
- You really need to twist your wrist to switch the face on. Kinda annoying - I would've preferred a bit more sensitivity to avoid stressing my hand less.
- Switching the swim mode on/off (long press followed by two knuckle taps) is error prone and a bit kludgy.

.
Thanks a lot, my primary usecase was also for Sleep Tracking and I went for the Huawei Band 2 Pro which also provides REM sleep. With everything turned on I am getting a Battery life of about 7-8 days and not more.

Also, has anyone figured out how to Backup and Restore Data or Export Data just in case the Mobile Device has to be reset?

Also you called out that Watch Faces can be simplified - can you help with how to do that?

AH, I do not use bluetooth because my phone battery is more precarious.

I don't know how to backup data - thats a limitation in my mind.

You can simply go to the health app (wear app is NOT required). Scroll to the bottom. Manage cards. Deselct what you wish.

I sync my Honor Band 3 and Huawei band 2 to "Up by Jawbone". Data sharing can be enabled in Huawei health to share data with "Up" which can store your data in servers and can be viewed across devices.

Huawei health also can share data with MyFitness Pal and Google fit.

Re: The Fitness Band/Smartwatch Thread

I've been planning to pick up a GPS running watch for some time now. However, I am not a regular runner (I don't run at all during winter months), so I was unsure if I should spend €100+ on a running watch. Last week, when I was visiting an electronics store for another item, I found a great deal on a TomTom Spark Cardio+GPS watch. The main reason for the deal was probably the fact that TomTom is exiting the wearables market. For the same reason, I was reluctant to pick up a product that has no future. But, given my usage pattern, I thought this product will do fine until I become a regular enough runner to get a better watch. So I went ahead and picked it up. On checking the package, I found that the watch is actually the more advanced Spark 3 model, which includes 24/7 activity and HR tracking as well as sleep tracking. At €59, this turned out to be a sweet deal, for one of the best budget running watches. I have had this watch for about a week now. Some +/- points:

+ Being a TomTom product, no concerns about GPS accuracy, locks on pretty quickly and not prone to losing GPS signal
+ HR accuracy is rated among the best for the price range in many reviews
+ Sleep tracking is also quite accurate (although it sometimes detects sleep during the hours spend in front of TV watching the World Cup )
+ Comes pre-loaded with many (50, I think) running workouts. The programs are easy to follow from the watch
+ Other activity types like cycling, swimming and treadmill runs can also be tracked
+ Ability to plan a route on the app and load it on the phone (haven't tried it out yet)
+ Battery life is good. I wear the watch for about 20h each day and have also used it for 3 runs in the past week (average duration around 50 mins). I think it would've lasted one week without recharging (I charged it couple of times during the week for short periods when I connected the watch to the PC)
- Sleep data is Basic, no in-depth analysis is provided. It is also not possible to track HR during sleep separately. The app shows only average HR during the whole day
- Bluetooth connection to phone is not always stable
- I use Runtastic also to track my runs, but the watch and the app don't connect. I should try some third-party apps/sites to sync data between them.

Re: The Fitness Band/Smartwatch Thread

Updated 3.5 month review of Honor Band 2:
Pros:
- Battery life (15-20 days is easy)
- Segmented sleep capture (you can sleep at 12 noon and it will capture it - mi band did not record midday sleep)
- Notifications work as intended
- Number of Watch faces can be simplified using the app - you can drop pages you don't want, eg running / swimming but only keep HR.
- Sleep tracking is REALLY accurate! This was my primary purpose - however, do note that it doesn't capture sleep in flights well. It will only capture a subset of that time as sleep, while I've heard from others that Apple watch tracks in-flight sleep more accurately.
- Steps is fairly accurate as well. (if you just swing your arms wildly while stationary it counts steps - this is something JawboneUP4 was smart to ignore)
- Bluetooth connection is quick, reliable but you don't keep it on since it needs BT+GPS to sync (Stupid Android 8 "feature")
- 100% waterproof. I bathe with it every single day. I only take it off when I happen to knock the lock open by mistake.
- It stores 10 days of old data on itself. I recently changed my phone under warranty and it brought back 10 day old data that had previously been synced to the older phone. Jawbone UP4 does not do that if I recall right.

Cons:
- First signs of disintegration seen in 3 months of 24x7 usage. The snap fit tabs of the band that fit into the watch, no longer do so, so the band looks slightly puffy at that edge, but is not visibly broken. Since the band is screwed on to the watch portion, it needs a service center visit. I hope to avoid that for 2-3 months but will update when that happens.
- It is not linked to an ID but to your IMEI hence it is NOT portable across phones. Change phones - you lose your data.
- Swimming tracking is very average - only time is tracked. Under water, touch is disabled (but that's okay for a 3800 bucks band since costlier watches do that as well).

More details sirjee. Its about time

Also, bought a ForeRunner 935 for my wife in our USA trip. So far it seems infinitely more value than the cuter but less useful Apple watch for her use (serious swimming and running). It is only 3 weeks since we got it.

Will review it in sometime but happy to take any questions from folks considering it right now.

Any reviews on the Amazfit Bip? Am considering it as a gift for someone with an android phone who currently uses a mi band 2. Want to keep the budget below the 10k mark. Any suggestions for the smart watches or bands I should look at?

Regarding Amazfit bip if it is indeed the best choice any idea it's better to buy at Indian amazon store where price is 6,990 or from Uk (with a relative) for 60£. Amazon shows a 6 month warranty with a third party provider hence the confusion. Would appreciate experiences by fellow forum members.

I know, I am replying to 'one month old' post and you may not need this review. But still I thought I will share my experience with Amazfit here. I have been using it since yesterday, so i cannot comment on the battery life yet. But, I am quite amazed with this watch. As mentioned, biggest positive factor that goes for this watch is it's 'always on' feature. The display is good enough under normal light conditions and only in sunlight we need to turn on the backlight.
I was using a basic smartband and it's a big leap forward for me. Build quality seems to be good and it does look like a proper watch (rather than a activity tracker). Customization with respect to 'changing the watch face' that is available for this watch are plenty from 3rd party apps in google play.
Overall, I am quite happy with this watch so far.

I'm using Amazfit Pace since last 6 months. It's a real value for money smart fitness watch with fantastic battery life. With all my notifications on and a few hours GPS tracking on, a full charge go up to 4 days comfortably. In direct sunlight you do not need the back light for this transreflective screen, back light automatically switch on in low light with a flip of the hand.
I highly recommended this smart fitness watch.

Usually I thought Endomondo is used as an app on mobile. Mostly gadgets have their own native tracking apps. At least I have never used Endomondo as as a default tracking app for smart watches/trackers.

Having said that, I don't do accurate is calorie tracking. I would rather believe on steps heart rates etc which are direct outputs of primary sensors. Is calorie count more an estimated thing?
