Garmin has a new model Vivomove HR. It missed out on GPS and it's not really a proper smartwatch more like a hybrid watch with an analog type dial.

http://www.garmin.co.in/products/wea...r-sport-black/

Has all the fitness tracking features just misses GPS and the smart watch gimmicks.

I would say this is a very good choice right now.

Re: The Fitness Band/Smartwatch Thread

I have a small question here. All these smart bands and watches connect to mobile devices through bluetooth. My question is when the bands are connected to phones, can we connect our phones to even cars bluetooth audio at the same time?

You should definitely look at Garmin Vivoactive series and the freshly launched Suunto 3 fitness.

Re: The Fitness Band/Smartwatch Thread

Can someone please suggest a fitness band for me - should track activity while playing lawn tennis (main requirement), some weekend cycling (secondary), small size, good battery life, on device display not a priority, should work well with android phone.
I am not looking for a smartwatch, and I intend to wear this tracker on my right wrist while I wear my regular watch on the left.

My suggestion would be FitBit Charge 2 which fits your requirement. I have been using this as my main activity tracker and wear it 24x7 on my left wrist. The band tracks steps, activities like running, cycling, workouts etc, records resting heart rate and sleep etc., and has a very good battery life of about 6 days for a full charge including 24 hour heart rate monitoring.

Is there a fitness band available which can track calories burnt during gym session? Should be able to track weight training.

Apple watch does this the best.

Aviator F Series

Has anyone got Aviator F series.

It is a normal watch with OLED screen that can be paired up with your smartphone to get SOME of the smartwatch features.

Unfortunately doesn't come with instruction manual. Was picked by a close friend in-flight and now struggling to turn on the OLED screen part.

The remote help from Aviator is pretty useless.

Cheers

Re: The Fitness Band/Smartwatch Thread

Guys, can you recommend a smartwatch for a 14 year old boy within a budget of 6/7k? Unsure of the cheaper brands while real ones start from 13k+. Use will be basic smart functions plus activity tracker for steps.

EDIT: Saw good reviews for the Amazfit and Ticwatch on Amazon. Will explore those for now.

Really can it track gym session? Any type of workouts? For example chest or shoulder workouts. Also do I need an iPhone to pair this?

Yes. Any workout can be tracked in Apple watch. There is an option to do so. You need not keep the watch paired always. All the data gets recorded in the watch and the same gets transferred to iPhone once it is paired eventually.

Thanks for the response. But I also wanted to know if I can pair it with android phone since I have one.
