Re: The TV Thread - LCD, LED etc.

Suggestions for a 55 inch TV. Looking for mid range price wise as I have a 65inch LG OLED in my main living room but need a 55 inch in the smaller lounge room

Looking at following options:

1. Hisense U7K (not finding it in stock anywhere)
2. Sony Bravia 3 S30 - Seems pricey at 80K for the specs vs the Hisense
3. Toshiba M650MP - seems like an older mini LEd model to the U7K

Other than Sony and LG, I haven't tried any other TV brand but am open to trying as usage will be lesser vs the LG OLEd in the main room.

Considering it's your secondary TV, I don't think you need to spend over 50k for a TV, Consider this Sony Bravia:

Go for the TCL C755 if you are looking for a Mini-Led.

https://amzn.in/d/cqAl6W7

From what I know, it is supposed to be better than the Hisense. Google TV being a bonus.

If you are open to spending 80k, spend a few grand more and go for the Sony x82L. The LG QNED83 is another good option.

I bought the 65 inch Hisense U6N Pro recently from Amazon and am absolutely blown away by it. It is 90% OLED quality at less than 50% of the price. It honestly blows any Sony/LG/Samsung in the same price range completely out the water. Plus it comes with 3 years manufacturer warranty as standard. Recommend you to look at the 55inch model, but that does come with slightly fewer dimming zones than the 65 inch.

Vidaa OS is super fast and snappy, and has all the apps, however I just use Apple TV instead.

Re: The TV Thread - LCD, LED etc.

Looks like the U7K is sold out everywhere and only U6N Pro is available.

I saw the U7K has better audio and better picture quality as well so thinking I'll wait a while for the U7K to be back in stock.

Looking at following.
Hi.
We just purchased a 65 Bravia 3 S30 from Croma.
I loved that Samsung ‘The Frame’ 65 and Ive had my eye on it for many months but one has to pay a monthly subscription for the Art (which is really the feature I loved). The Samsung Frame 55 is also beautiful and so is fhe Bravia 3 55.
Saying all this, there is a very clear difference in depth of sound and richness of colour between the Samsung and the Sony with the Sony winning by a country mile. We decided on this by simultaneously watching the same Porsche Car Vrroom Vrroom video, to judge colour depth and picture clarity and listening to both the TV’s back to back with the same video to make a decision.

Whatever one may say, Sony is Sony. No two ways about it. Which is why we chose it.

Re: The TV Thread - LCD, LED etc.

Hi Guys,

I am looking for a 43 inch 4K Smart budget TV for our bedroom.

I have been looking at the TCL, Hi Sense and Xiaomi TV's.
All seem to be similar in features and prices.
Can anyone advise which has the best ASS?
Does the ROM really make a difference as the Mi TV has only 8 GB ROM compared to 16 GB ROM on the others?
What about the RAM? They all have only 2 GB. Will this make a difference to the picture quality?

Thanks in advance.
SS

From the blurb on the TV screen it seems to be Rs 799/- per month. There seem to be a bunch of museums and artworks on display. Some lovely Picassos and Cezannes and Van Goghs and so on from The Met and the Louvre or Musee D’Orsay and all.

However, I did not investigate more deeply in ref to what exactly one gets for the subscription - meaning does it unlock all the museums and all the artworks or only a curated selection.

Xiaomi and TCL have good After-Sales services, not sure about Hisense though.

ROM is the storage available and more ROM means more apps can be downloaded and used and storage for movies and music when downloaded onto the TV.

RAM is the memory for loading apps and more RAM transpires to better snappiness, less hang and more apps can be loaded simultaneously. Picture quality isn't affected by the RAM or ROM.

It is better to get at least the 2GB RAM and 16GB Storage variants as 1 or 1.5GB can be a little too less and 8GB storage is bare minimum.

If you are looking at a budget option in this segment, do consider the following:
Xiaomi Redmi X43
Although a bit older model has everything you need at around 20k
https://www.flipkart.com/redmi-mi-10...eQkO1l001xiDlk

If you want one with a better display and speakers:
Xiaomi X Pro 43-inch
Priced at 30,999 with a 2k discount on all cards and an additional 2k discount on select cards, bringing the price down to around 27k
https://www.flipkart.com/mi-xiaomi-x...eQnNuL001iLGIH

If you'd prefer a more reputed brand:
LG UR7500
It is priced at 30k with a 1.5k instant discount on all purchases, along with an additional 1.5k discount on select cards bringing the price down to 27k

Actually you are comparing 2 completely different models apples to oranges.

The Samsung frame compromises on picture quality as well as audio for the aesthetics. It's also heavily discounted as not many fall for aesthetics over PQ and audio.

The Bravia 3 is mid level Sony and is relly good but compares more with the Samsung Q series QLED. That would be a closer compare vs the compromised Samsung Frame series.

Hi Bijims,

Thanks so much for your quick response and clear explanation.

Although not an LG fanboy, the 5 year warranty makes a case for itself.

Will visit Croma & Reliance Digital to finalise the best deal.

Thanks again,
SS

Croma and Reliance Digital don't have it on offer currently, Flipkart and Amazon currently have the best offers on this model. If you are looking at options from Croma and Reliance Digital, here are a few:

Xiaomi 108 cm (43 inch) X Series 4K Ultra HD Smart LED Google TV, L43M7-A2IN
https://www.reliancedigital.in/produ...rch_collection
https://www.jiomart.com/p/electronic...d-tv/606002021

Hisense 109.22 cm (43 Inch) Ultra HD (4K) Smart TV, 43A65N, Black
https://www.reliancedigital.in/produ...rch_collection

LG UQ7500 108 cm (43 inch) 4K Ultra HD LED WebOS TV with Gen5 AI Processor 4K
https://www.croma.com/lg-uq7500-108-...89f3b804e4e0eb

TCL V6B 109 cm (43 inch) 4K Ultra HD LED Google TV with Dolby Audio (2024 Model)
https://www.croma.com/tcl-v6b-109-cm...cc396ef54f48bc

Hisense E6N 108 cm (43 inch) 4K Ultra HD LED Smart Google TV With 4K AI Upscaler (2024 Model)
https://www.croma.com/hisense-e6n-10...db853fb9c30a58

TCL C655 109.22 cm (43 inch) QLED 4K Ultra HD Google TV with Dolby Vision (2024 model)
https://www.croma.com/tcl-c655-109-2...odel-/p/306516

The last one from TCL is a best seller on Croma and Reliance Digital and is at its best price now. Moreover, all of these have additional coupons and bank offers too. Do check them out personally at these stores and get one which best fits your needs!

Warranty on TV is for 1 year.

OS updates are guaranteed for 5 years.

Flipkart page mentions :

Warranty Summary

1 Year Standard Warranty on the Product from the Date of Purchase. (T&C Apply)

Good pointers.
Indeed I fell for all that lovely art that it was displaying when I saw the demo piece in Croma.
But then, Im not the primary TV person in the house. My wife is.
And Im glad we went and did the comparo back to back so as to have been able to make the right decision which suits our needs.
Incidentally at the present moment, our primary TV is an 18 year old Samsung LCD 42 Inch TV which works brilliantly. Excellent warmth and depth of colour and rich sound. It has served us very well and continues to do so. Though it is ‘pre’ Smart TV that was very easily fixed by adding a Fire TV stick dongle. It works fine!
We will just move it to another room and continue to use it even after the new Telly arrives.
