In normal parlance, a prototype is a model, something which is made to test performance of a yet to be launched product.
So, you have volunteered to be a guinea pig.
The machine is delivered and installed, the cost will be clear once I get the invoice in the next few days, the price should be in mid-30's

I guess, we will be the guinea pig, but then, with the assurance from the officials in case of any adversity and the features in the machine, I am certainly not complaining

the listed features with verbatim description are

~ 9kg washer
~ 7kg dryer
~ Steam Wash
~ Economic Wash System - uses artifical intelligence, the washer uses minimum energy and warter by selecting optiman water level and washing time
~ low noise - washer minimizes the washing and spinning noises by sensing the amount of laundry (yes, we have already seen that in the first wash)
~ water sprinkler in drum
~ Child Lock (important feature for us)
~ Air Bubble Washing - generating millions of air bubbles inside the drum on washing sequence and the bubbles dissolves the detergent particles completely and cleanses all the soil in the clothes gently and neatly
~ Self Cleaning course of drum - enable to self-clean the drum
~ Digital Condensing Dry System - condensing dry system with saving energy

see pictures of the Carton in which it arrived, the new IFB machine and the dead whirlpool machine

hi guys, Can anyone tell me if there is any standard dimensions for Dish Washers? The query is because i am constructing a house and wanted to make sure i have enough place to plonk one in when needed.
Secondly, do all Dish Washers come with heaters to heat up water? Or should I be providing plumbing for hot water from the solar heater?

@deep_bang - there are standard sizes, but there are several of the standards.

See:-

Dishwasher - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kitchens .com - Dishwasher Sizes

BTW, does anybody apart from IFB make dishwashers in India?

Wasnt intended to buy the recent one which had touchpad, better off with regular buttons. Got this from a Pigeon outlet with one year warranty on everything (including the ceramic plate).

Got the model home on saturday and could see the impact in just one day - cooking has never been faster.
Great, I think the first owner on T-BHP for induction stove. I look forward to your experiences and feedback on using an induction stove.

Keeping folder paper underneath helps to adjust against the flooring.

Prevent your naughty kids from fiddling around with settings.

It is essential that the kid is naughty, else it will not stay locked.

<serious>

Most current models have that feature - the lowest end models, however, do not have.

BTW, anupam, can you provide a link to that model in IFB site?

I don't think anybody would make dishwashers without in-built heaters because unlike clothes washing machines (top loaders, esp.), dishwashers cannot give even acceptable results without hot water. However, though the machine may have an in-built heater, you may still want to use hot water from your solar heater, and in doing so you would be saving a lot on the machine's power consumption.

AFAIK at least Siemens does. Don't know if they are made here or imported. IFB's dishwashers are imported from Italy (at least thats what I'v been told...).

Are the dishwashers effective with Indian style of cooking (turmeric stains etc)? Any feedback?

^^^I guess I'd posted few comments on our IFB dishwasher earlier. Yes, if it works well, it gives pretty good results. Sticky stuff obviously needs hotter temps and longer wash cycles (more power, detergent). Glass, crockery, etc., are the easiest to clean and will come out sparkling (even if very soiled), with even the shorter wash cycles.

But the whole point is that it has to work at the optimum. Ours stopped doing that after 2 months or so... long story. Please check earlier posts in this thread for more details.

Termeric stains? On what? I don't think it stains glass or stainless? Yes it could stain plastic, i guess. But IFB's detergent contains Cl and hence will fade that stain more than any conventional SLES based dishwashing detergent.

Hi BSD, I too tried searching for it on the IFB site, but of no avail, there is no mention anywhere, the most advanced IFB machines in the market/website which is "Digital SX" is quite many steps below this 9/7WD

hence, I posted the pictures..

After getting the dishwasher replaced, how is the performance since? Any further issues?

I haven't used IFB dishwashers, but I have used dishwashers abroad for donkey's years. They are effective for indian kind of cooking also. You just need to do a mild rinse before loading any vessel into the dishwasher - be it indian cooking or any cooking.
