Canon is out with a Cannonball. Watch out Folks.

On a second thought, a couple of years down the line, most of last 6 month's LCD tv purchases will be obsolete. Eeeeeshhhh!

For 1000D, I got a quote for Rs. 31000 from palika, with Rs. 32000 from a Canon outlet in a mall in Gurgaon. Can you please tell me which place is selling this for 29 grand?

Not sure if any full-frame SLR user would actually record HD video.

Is still photography not worthwhile anymore?

Gurus, how would this model compare with the Fujifilm Finepix s100fs?

Its like what happened to mobile phones. Now they don't use it to make calls anymore.

Correct me if wrong, Heard that the budget versions like this one and 55-250mm IS have different glass elements and stabilizer technology compared to a 70-300mm IS USM.

Hi suman,

Today I saw fujifilm s100fs which is huge camera but its excellant product, because of $ appreciation prices have gone up I feel. They said it would cost 30,000/-.

I waited for 3 months and gave up buying fuji s100fs because of tight finance and my 5+ yrs old s7000 fuji ccd issue is sorted out. After repair I need to print the pictures to see if new ccd is producing same old good quality pictures as before.

s100fs I don't know in comparision with other models but I can assure you based on its technical aspects and reviews its excellant camera! It beats few entry level DSLRs. Its built to last long like my 5+ yrs old s7000.

Regards,

Ravi.

In layman terms I would like to know the difference between a CCD sensor and a CMOS one.

I understood the working technicaly sort of but need to understand performance wise which is better than the other.

Also, which sensor's do teh popular DSLR's use?

Ravi, thanks for your inputs. Yes, I've been reading goog things about it as well - there is no doubt that its one of the best, if not the best, of the "bridge" cameras but I'm a little concerned about what I've been reading about the Chromatic Aberration & the purple fringing.

Our resident gurus have rightly pointed out to me that perhaps it won't even show up in the majority of the pics I take but its an avoidable defect I thought given the fact that its priced so high.

Let me sleep over it for a while longer.

@suman, just wait for dpreview to carry out a review of the sx1 and sx10 and you will have a clearer picture, I was using a canon s3is and the upto 12x it has performed brilliantly, so we have to see what the cam gurus say about the performance of these 2 cameras >15x.

DPreview have done a pre-review, I can see the s100fs has a bigger sensor & its ISO preformance is way above the Canon.

But as you said, a full review will make things clearer
