Small and compact isn't worth buying for a dSLR, tsk1979 already pointed that out. You need something that doesn't shake in wind, or doesn't swing like a pendulum when you release your hand from the tripod. What is your budget? if you can stretch it, go for the Manfrotto. That will be minimum 8K though. |

That's called shutter lag, most reviews would mention that parameter. My F-717 has 0.7 second shutter lag, which is huge. But most dSLRs almost have no shutter lag. |
