Ah! After 6 months of buying CS2, Adobe came out with CS3. But I didn't want to upgrade so soon. Since CS2 didn't natively support E3 raw, it was a pain to convert to DNG before processing. Now my wait has paid off, Adobe is out with CS4. Now I can upgrade and get native support for E3 raw.

Damn and I still have an unused copy of CS3 sitting with me. These upgrade cycles just suck one out of cash :(.

@ ROC, Well not everyone has decided to have a product lifecycle and software assurance schemes like Microsoft. Sometimes, we definitely are on a good ship.

Won't lightroom be good enough for a photographer?

WTB: Nikon D40 and Nikon 18-200VR Lens

Hi,
A friend of mine needs a Nikon D40. If anyone is planning to sell their Nikon D40 with kit lens (or body only), please PM me or email me. Immediate purchase.

He is not interested in D40x/D50/D70 etc. He is particular about Nikon D40 + kit lens & Nikon 18-200VR (if anyone is planning to sell it too).

Thank You :-)

I dont see much use for lightroom. Just about everything lightroom can do can be done using DPP.

Thinking of purchasing Sony DCR-SR45E 30 GB HD camcorder. Seems I can get it for sub 20 K on ebay. Would like opinions on this especially whether Hard Disk model is worth it in comparison to DVDs. No clear views emerging through googling !!

I think it's worth buying a flash disk model. Hard disk/dvd etc are things of the past. Canon is releasing a SLR camera with full HD recording. Wait...
there will be mega change in camera/camcorder technology.

Yesterday checked up Canon. They have a model FS100 (flashdisk) with a free 8 GB card for rs. 22,500 ( 2 yrs warranty). Very compact.

I am a complete newbie when it comes to cameras. Looking at getting a P&S for myself. I know absolutely nothing about them though.
I am considering getting either the Sony DSC-W130 or the Canon A720 IS. Which one do you think is better ? Both are priced similar, I guess. Any alternatives you guys can suggest in a similar price range (or lesser too!) ?

Sajo, it will be better if you can mention the kind of photography you intend to do. Please mention purpose (family shots/birding/landscapes/indoor/low light), size (ultra-compact/compact/near-SLR), budget, brand preference, etc.

if you are looking for a P&S a good suggestion is panny TZ15. One of my friends recently bought Sony T300 for similar price which i consider as not worth the money.
