Re: The iPhone Thread

Normal use case. In fact I shied away from transparent cases so far

Here’s one from the iPhone 14 Pro. Spigen:

Please do check Amazon India for reviews. Plenty of instances wherein buyers have complained of yellowing.

Same with our 14 Pro Max Spigen Magsafe cases. Yellowed within 9 months and Spigen India has warranty for only 6 months.

That is probably because the cover starts yellowing from the edges first followed by the back. Your edges are black, hence it stays concealed I guess.

Any one tried that with the iPhone.

Either it syncs with find my or with the jio think app.

Doesn't sync with both apps.

Any suggestions? I'll update after trying it out for a few days.

I have three AirTags and I'm very happy with it. A half price option from Jio enticed me to try out as well.
I was also wanting to add a couple of JioTags to my 4 x AirTag collection, but your post made me dig a little deeper.

It now looks as if the JioTag can be paired to only one app at a time, and I presume that means that if it is paired to my iPhone Find My app, it will not be visible or take advantage of the massive Jio universe. I'm a little hesitant to install the JioThings app on my iPhone (various reasons)!

It will sell very well with Jio users of course.

You asked for it

I am fully satisfied with my battery replacement. My 8x% to 20% takes about 1.5-2 days, was ~ 1 day before. Battery health has dropped to 99% in the last few days.

If this phone becomes a hand-me-down then I'll replace again, or else traded in sometime later next year.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Battery replacement in Mumbai at
Phoenix Mills, Lower Parel.

The Apple Store Service section on the first floor has received fresh stock of batteries of various phone models.

Battery for my iPhone 11 costs Rupees 6081.00 with tax and can be replaced in two hours. It’s always better to take a backup before you hand over your phone to the service centre but they mentioned changing the battery wouldn’t affect data. I wouldn’t take that risk though.

Cheers

Wife's iphone 13 is showing battery health of 81%. I believe it will go below 80% soon. Any idea what will be the total cost of battery replacement for iphone 13?

Anyone tried battery replacement for iphone from Apple store in Select CityWalk?

Thanks for the information, let's see what noticeable upgrades it brings in, the next major update iOS 18 is what I am eagerly awaiting though.

Yes, seems everyone is waiting for their AI version of iOS18. However, AI means here "Apple Intelligence" which combines generative AI with personal context, and Apple calls it "AI for the rest of us."

Guys, Jio Tag is not a replacement for the AirTag, I got the jio tag too thinking it is cheaper & even if patchy, at least I can get an approximate location, but, it works via bluetooth and works only when that phone is in vicinity, unlike Apple AirTag.

Apple AirTag works brilliantly that way.

Sheel, are you sure? I thought the entire rationale behind these tags is to use crowdsourcing and bounce off the signals across the iOS or Android ecosystem.

https://www.jio.com/jiotag-air

One flaw with the JioTag is that the chip is not Ultra Wide Band (UWB), hence the real world performance might be significantly worse than an AirTag.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Folks, Just bought an iPhone 15 plus couple of days ago as a secondary phone. Not happy with the camera pics especially the selfies. My primary mobile being Vivo V27, I couldn't help but compare them both. Used iPhone a decade ago so I am sorry I am not up to date with the ecosystem. I am sure there should be ways to tune it or use some other third party apps. I tried YouCam and its not up to the mark.

It would be nice if iPhone folks help me out with the same. Thanks.

The stock camera app would be your best bet, try these settings as advised, they should help (it is for the iPhone 15 and Pro but you can try it out on your Plus as well)

Re: The iPhone Thread

iPhone 12 Pro battery health already reached 76%. Will have to get it replaced. Coming to Thrissur, Kerala for two days but authorized centre iCare at Shobha city mall doesn’t have it in stock.

Any recommendations based on experiences where I can get it replaced?

Re: The iPhone Thread

Anyone else having trouble sending Whatsapp messages with Siri after the 17.6 update?

I've been using this via Carplay for the last 4 years. This functionality breaks overnight saying the 'The contact does not have Whatsapp messaging enabled'.

Messaging still works via Siri, but not whatsapp messaging.
