Rumor is about $400 price, should be around 35k in India.

Nice!

Are they thinking to discontinue the E90, with the launch of the E75?
The E90 might just sell for a lot less, to make way for the E75.

Guys, what is your opinion on the Nokia 5800 Xpress music?? I really liked it, but the reviews on the net are scaring me! Also, i need a decent cam, and i've heard that the 5800 has a pathetic one. Can it be corrected by some software, coz its a 3.2Mpix with Carl Ziess, so it should (at least on paper) perform as well as the N73 cam right??

Also nicknamed the 'Tube'..I was almost ready to buy it until I saw the N97 which is being launched end of March-Beginning April. If you can't wait then you should go ahead with the 5800. Even I read a few reviews, they didn't scare me that much except for the battery life. But then touch screens usually tend to eat the battery quicker than normal phones.

Any idea how much the n97 will cost? I guess it will be in e90 territory. My budget is 20k. The part that i found disturbing in the reviews are about the camera. Its supposed to be worse than a 2mp! And i need a decent cam!

The N97 is touchscreen though.

I wonder if the E90 will ever come down, in the vicinity of 20K or so.

Yes you are right on both counts. The N97 will be in E90 League.

And the camera on the 5800 is disappointing. As I hardly use the camera on my phones, I don't really bother with it. But if you want a good quality cam-phone I'm afraid the 5800 is not the ideal choice. Have a look at the link below where they've compared it's image quality with other phones:
Nokia 5800 XpressMusic review: Young as you feel - GSMArena.com

Anyone has can suggest how I could probably play .avi or .divx files on E71. Any particular player or a codec pack that i could use Or any Freeware that can e used to convert files to .Mp4 format and if any camera application is available.
I'd really appreciate help, its my first Symbian fone, in fact my first Nokia.
Used to be pro-motorola before as i found nokia phones way too bulky.

Anup, we already have one in the family (not mine though). It is a great phone, without a doubt. I am looking to get one that emulates the E71.

In that case, why not E63?
As for the keypad, it is small and kinda cramped. But eventually, one gets used to using the bulge on the keys with the tip of the finger. After which, typing is a breeze.
'just checked out the absolute Black E71 at the store, it looks smart.
But, I wonder how well the shiny edges will take scratches.

The E63 has a kinda' plasticky look; other than that, looks almost like the E71.

Has Nokia discontinued the E61i? It's not listed on their site.

Yeah. i agree it looks plasticky. specially after checking out E71. But is a fantastic buy for 11.7K.
Yes, E61i has been discontinued. The shop guy says that E63 replaced it.

CoreCodec.CorePlayer.v1.1.1.S60v3.SymbianOS9.1. That should help you.

What is the difference between a QWERTY keyboard (E71) and a full keyboard (E63)?

A QWERTY keyboard is a full keyboard. They are both the same. QWERTY is a short name as if you notice on any keyboard, they all start with the letters Q,W,E,R,T and Y (from the top left).:)

Was comparing the two phones, and it showed 'QWERTY keyboard' for the E71, and 'Full Keyboard' for the E63, which got me curious.

Delhi guys: What is the E63 selling for? I will be in DEL next week, and was thinking of picking one up.

Where might I get the best deal?

Regarding GPS use on Nokia maps.
The location isnt shown, nor does it connect w/o a subscription. I found One can just browse the maps(i.e. w/o activating the 3 months free subscription)
I installed Google mobile maps (.sisx application) from the google wap site, and was surprised too see google maps connect to 4 sattalites and a blinking blue dot that displays the location approximately to 70 Sq meters through a sattalite view of the map.
Would i be charged for the Satellite access? (i.e. apart from the edge data charges for d/ling the map details)

Space bar is smaller on the E63, giving way for 2 extra keys so a couple more characters can be input directly through the keypad. I guess the Space bar also doubles in as a torchlight button and there are 2 separate buttons for character and Control on the E63, unlike the E71.
