Well, I was about to post the same question as pawan.
What I want to know is,
- Are there any other alternatives that I might be missing (>20k)? and
- Will the inbuilt GPS module work just fine with MGmaps etc? Never used any GPS enabled device, so pardon my ignorance.
Compare India quotes p347o at Rs.15,500. Not sure about the 5800. Is it a good deal?
My Gene(HTC P3400i) has gone dead.. want to revive it.. tried many options of loading different operating systems on it.. but failed.. i was running win 6.1 on it but some how felt like reverting back to win5.. result: Dead phone.. now the phone fails to boot and is stuck at boot loader.. it restarts after 2% of OS installation.. anyone faced such problem before?? by the way in meantime I got a new iPhone a couple of days back..
check out Samsung JET its around 20-21!
I just got a chance to play with it today ... awesome phone!
I recently bought a Samsung B2100 Phone, as i needed a waterproof phone (I have an Olympus WaterProof Camera) for outdoor use during treks and tours.
The phone is water, shock and dust resistant.
IP57 Certification For Water/Dust Resistance,Water Resistant up to 1 metre (30 min),Military Standard 810F Durability Compliance MIL-STD-810F and Anti-Shock Urethane Body.

* 1.77” 120×160 px color display... Read More
* 1.3 megapixel camera
* FM Radio
* MP3/Video Player
* Built in Torch
* Bluetooth 2.1 and USB 2.0
* SMS, MMS (with video),E-mail (POP3, SMTP, IMAP4)
* 10 MB of internal memory
* microSD memory card slot - upto 8GB
* Battery: 1000 mAh
* Dimensions: 113×49x17.5 mm
The phone cost me Rs.6590/- with a 4 GB MicroSD card from e-zone in chembur K-Stars Mall.
They had advt. the product with a free 2Gb MicroSD card for Rs.6490/-, but when i went to pick it up they had run out of 2 GB cards so instead they offered me a 4GB card for an additional Rs.100.
I even went ahead and tested it.
The Phone is actually waterproof, you can see from the attached image of the phone in a glassful of water. The phone is actually ringing. clap:
:) You must had seen the way the phone is advertised, recently it is advertised in mall while being dipped in a glass bowl !!
Though LCD is a bit crappy but still great for touring.
no, i hadn't seen that, the idea of putting it into the glass was from my son. We even recorded a video of that :)
But i had seen a video of it on Youtube being dipped into a glass bowl, before i bought the phone ;)
I Personally dont mind the LCD, what mattered was the sturdiness and the standby/talktime. I would have also not wanted a GPS or Camera. Because i feel that a Phone and GPS should be separate devices. No Point in being stuck somewhere without a GPS or Phone.
I would like to know if someone has bought Sony ericsson C510. It's a 3G phone, has EDGE (my primary requirement coz of work related connectivity reasons) & cybershot 3.2 MP with no xenon flash. It is currently in market for around 10.5 K. What say folks? A good buy?

Interestingly today as i asked my bro to get me a LG cookie to gift my gf he called me and said the sales guy is showing him a new phone - Sony ericsson C510.
I did a quick search on google and just found 3g as a good option in comparo with cookie.
I bought the cookie as i felt it to be a better gift(touchscreen was primary reason and i liked the design also) and somehow i dont like Sony ericsson phones(not cos they are not good but as i am nokia user by birth i find them way complicated to operate!)
Still the specs look good and 10.5k is a good price IMO for this.:)
You can even check Samsung Star 3g which is touchscreen and is around 13k i guess.

Indeed, Samsung Jet seems a pretty neat package but I have developed a liking for a Windows Mobile.
With the above requirements in mind, hows
HTC TOUCH P3452? CROMA is selling it for 14999INR and as per them, it has an internal GPS antenna. What I am confused about is, HTC site has no mention of this product? And according to the site, Touch doesn't have a GPS chip!!
Are Touch and Touch P3452 two different products?
Help me out guys!! Is CROMA correct about this model?? P3452??

No. It does not have a GPS built in.
If it is touch screen windows mobile with GPS that you are interested check out the ASUS models.
Incidentally I do use a HTC P3400i with an external bluetooth GPS receiver.
Update- Got the Cookie.
Played around with it for 30 mins.
Loved every inch of it.
Looks are samshing and the interface is good too.
Will be a bit sad to gift it tomm' :(
Overall Satisfied :)
Folks,
I need a phone with good network, battery life and decent camera. I am not a music fanatic, never used phones to listen songs. I sorted out
Samsung S3310 and Nokia 5130. I never used Samsung phones before, so please advice.
Thanks
I currently have a HTC touch which I have been using for over a year. Now I am thinking of an upgrade.
I really like the HTC touch, so I don't want give up all the good stuff about it. But I want a good camera with AF, GPS and longer battery. The most obvious upgrades are
1) HTC touch Diamond (But I heard the camera was bad)
2) HTC Touch Diamond 2 (Great camera, expensive)
3) Samsung i900 Omnia
4) HTC P3470 (GPS and really cheap)
Anything else that gives good camera, GPS & longer battery?
HTC Magic running on google Android. You can also wait for the Samsung Jet.
Budget wise the diamond with the upgraded battery is your best bet.
Samurai, you didn't even upgrade the HTC touch Os to 6.1 like I had mentioned to you long time back. It's so much more user friendly with the quicker WinMo6.1

I need a well settled OS, with lot of application support. I have SatGuide which won't run on Android.

Holy cow, that's the usual Samsung offering. Great hardware, pathetic software. It is not even a smartphone, I can't go back to a non-smartphone.

But I hear it has questionable build quality.

Hmm, does it mean I have to re-install all the software like SatGuide?
But I need in-built GPS badly, getting sick of the external unit.
