I might consider Sonos for my own house. Definitely need to start saving-up

Re: The Home Theater thread

I am renovating the house completely and in the process want to mount a home theater for our living space. The drawing room area stands around 350 square feet. Was thinking of going for a 5.1 Home theater system. The total budget at max stands at 1 Lakh although since I am not an audiophile, I just wishes to hear my TV with more clarity & depth and so would prefer more economical options. The TV is the Samsung LED Frame 65 inch.

Experts please help by answering following questions:

1. Please suggest Brands and in extension the models that should be considered.
2. The type of wires to be used between speakers since I plan to conceal them.

TIA

Ideally, I would have suggested Bose, but with soundbars taking over, the options I recommend are SONY and JBL, here are a couple:

https://www.croma.com/jbl-bar-1000-p...lack-/p/267590

https://www.amazon.in/Sony-HT-S700RF...1323089&sr=8-3

Ideally, the Sony is more than enough for your setup and considering you are not an audiophile either, this is quite an old model but is made for India and has 1000W output, more than enough for most use cases. The JBL despite being more audio-centric provides only 880W through its soundbar and speakers and is quite expensive.

The Samsung Q990D is the one you should check out. Considering you already have a Samsung TV, this will sync beautifully via Q-symphony. The usual price across outlets is always around the 1 Lakh bracket. Attaching below a link for reference:

From my experience please dont buy the Sony with floor speakers. It eats up space and accumulates dust. I gave away my superb, Pioneer floor standing units.

Something like the Focal Sib Cub 5.1 with an entry level Denon receiver like the 250BT should do the job. You need good quality 1.5 sq mm speaker cable from the receiver to all 5 speakers and a RCA cable to the sub in terms of cabling.

Re: The Home Theater thread

Any recommendations for an All in One USB powered soundbar that doesn't break the bank but provides stellar output?

Can go for JBL Flip 6 + a Bluetooth dongle in USB port. Does neat job for ₹ 9K. However you won't get atmos or surround.

For that, can increase the budget for JBL SB510, SB 271 or even Bar 500 for independent surrounds - but they won't be USB powered only USB sourced via BT.

Sonos/Sony/Bose also have good options.

If you don't want external power then connect rechargeable Flip 6 via BT you be disappointed.

Re: The Home Theater thread

I have paired two polk tower speakers with norge audio 2 channel amplifier. While the sound quality is great, there is no remote or Bluetooth for the amp, and it's a bit of a pain to operate, thereby reducing its usage. I am looking to replace the amp with another 2 channel amp with remote and Bluetooth. While I can go for a base model from denon, that also costs ~ Rs 27k. Look forward to inputs from fellow enthusiasts if there are any budget stereo amplifier options with good sound quality.

I have a Yamaha RS-202 amp which is 2.0. It has an inbuilt bluetooth and a full function remote to go with it. It is a nice warm sounding amp with a balanced tone. I also drive Polk floor standers with it & the result is amazing for listening to music.

PS: I have also added a Yamaha Sub with it, but it isn't mandatory as the Polks deliver good bass. I needed bass depth at lower volumes too and hence added the sub. The amp doesn't have a sub output. You will need a hi-low converter if case you plan to add a sub.

Last Saturday I placed an order for a pair of speakers. On the third working day today the response is a vague "under process". There is also contradictory statements about the product coming from Mumbai, and then from Ludhiana. If anyone has phone numbers, other than those listed on their website vplak.com, I would be very grateful.
